"hey everybody on facebook,
how are you doing? this is jon and we are backstage at american idol. big night tonight, we are going to be doing 'Superman'. thanks for everything you guys have done to make the song a big hit" - jbj

Jon is on facebook almost everyday. He has no problem asking fans to do this or that, talking about the show the night before, etc.
The guy is definitely business smart and knows FB is a great marketing tool.

Next year Fox cuts 1/2 hr off each night of the show. Good and many have requested it.

If they continue this show next year without Paula or Simon, this show will tank BIG time. :? I think they should give it a rest for a year or two, let Simon do his other show, then return with the original judges. JMHO.

Hmmmm. Randy The Dawg was on the View today, and they asked him who he would like to see mentor the singers, and he didn't mention Perry. He said Madonna, Steven Tyler, and a few others.

That's because he's not allowed to discuss it. He can't let the cat out of the bag.

I'm mad. If they bring on the Gibb Brothers, and the vocals are a little weak, and Alice Cooper, who was okay, they should have had Tears for Fears on (especially b/c of the Mad World hit they used last year) b/c Roland's vocals are spectacular still at 48 and Curt's tenor harmony is really great blended with Roland's vocals. B/c sometimes it's hard for me to watch Idol when they bring on '80s acts and their performance is lackluster and drags. It kind of makes me sad when that happens. Sometimes memories are better.

My God, Christina Aguilera came out singing her new song You Lost Me and was breathtaking with her vocals.

Christina was great. And about the 80's acts - actually everyone on so far (with the exception of Christina) was more like 70's or even earlier - I forgive them for the lacklustre performances  .

One thing about Idol - last few years they've managed to pull off a pretty damn good finale.

Well, Hall and Oates sound great, but I'm tired of that song.

The "older" acts are on for all the "cougars" out there that watch American Idol.

The finales are the best part of American Idol!!

Put Journey on there singing DSB, without Perry, with Arnel, and the audience will still go crazy, (it would be ballistic with Perry). just like in concerts b/c everybody is high on that song right now.

You're wrong. I've been to the concerts last couple of years. It's a massive sing-along. Everybody is loving the song even more these days and younger people b/c of Glee, Sopranos, other shows. The audience would all be singing along.

true. It appears they won't be invited without Perry, but you have to admit it would be a big favorite on there with DSB being played.

If their rating continue to decline like this year, they'll take Journey with Robert Fleischman if they have to next year.

What the heck happened to the vocals? The horns were as tight as ever. I love, love, love Chicago, but that was almost painful... :?
