A big difference here is that Journey WRITES their songs. They arrange them, and they got to their level of success by hard work and YEARS of constant touring and recording. Jim, comparing musicians isn't something I do. If I like 'em I like 'em and if I don't, I don't listen. To deny Adam's talent is whack, (as Whitney would say, LOL), and I'm not saying anyone has to like anyone else, but you're a musician and you can hear well enough to know that Adam can sing.
And actually, when critics try to gut Journey, they always talk about Steve Perry's over the top vocals and Popera style. I'm sure David Bowie's theatrics turned many people off, as do the theatrics of Kiss and every other band that has used them. Hell, even Freddy Mercury got skewered for his style, and he's one of the greatest rock voices in the history of music.
And Adam does write and co-write alot, but when a label owns you, you do what the label says.
I simply don't understand the need to belittle other people's musical taste from people, that's what my post is about and glass houses of course.
I thought that was amazing
