I've been a fan of Journey since '79-80.
Just because I'm Filipino, I 'obviously' don't count??
I'm primarily an Arnel fan??
Pigfuckers...

Wech, you are the exception, not the rule, and you know it. I love how you guys are mincing words and taking my statement out of context. Panties in a bunch, much?

I don't think so. I was in the Philippines in 1991 and there was plenty of Journey being played, both on radio and in clubs. Hell, my wife's uncle was even playing ROR in his Jeepny.
I don't know where you were at. Besides the occasional playing of Lights or Open Arms, I never heard much of Journey anywhere on the radio and I was there constantly between 1986 and 1992.
One thing I do know is that a lot of you that are Filipino or associated with Filipinos never showed up here until after Arnel got hired. Seeing as the guy had no solo career, the only denominator here is the Philippine angle, nothing really to do with the music at all. Most of these kababayans never saw Perry, Augeri or Soto before, and many have no notion of Journey songs beyond what is on Revelation. With the constant requests for re-recorded music and the open refusal to purchase any material pre-Pineda, it's easy to see why the Filipino fan base is considered a bandwagon group. These aren't just empty observations, this isn't stuff I am assuming, this is fact based from things I have actually read, posts made by Filipino fans on all the different Journey related websites since the inclusion of Arnel to the group. The bias is so strong despite the fact that AP has not really contributed anything to Journey's legacy yet, is it any wonder why people can't take this segment of the fan base seriously?
