My brother-in-law works for a rendering plant. They pick up the used grease and cooking oil from restaurants and grocery stores. They do some sort of process to it and then sell it to Mexico. Not sure what Mexico does with it, but they buy the stuff.

That rendering plant also picks up dead livestock from the local farmers. They boil the cows and chickens and then grind up what's left into a powder. They make feed out of the remains. And I think some sort of fertilizer?

One Saturday, my brother-in-law took me to the rendering plant. There was this long dump truck backed up in the dock out back. He told me to climb up the side of the truck and look inside. Being the dumbass curious one that I am, I did it. The smell hit me so bad I fell off the truck straight on to my back. The truck was full of dead, sun-baking chickens. That was by far, the worst smell I ever encountered in my life. It literally instantly paralyzed me and I fell off the truck.

So, with that disgusting story for your reading pleasure, I say, as long as you aren't "fowl" smelling, you're good.
