Man charged with sodomizing SF hospital patient

(06-10) 14:29 PDT San Francisco, CA (AP) --

A San Francisco hospital patient has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting another patient who's quadriplegic.

Prosecutors say 49-year-old Irving Jovel was charged Wednesday with four felonies, including forced sodomy and forced digital penetration.

District attorney spokeswoman Erica Derryck says the alleged victim, a quadriplegic, was attacked in his San Francisco General hospital room Saturday.

Jovel is scheduled to appear in court Friday for arraignment. He does not yet have an attorney.

Hospital CEO Sue Currin said in a written statement Thursday that the hospital has not had a similar incident before and told authorities when they found out.

Currin says the hospital is cooperating with a criminal investigation and conducting its own internal investigation.

I know it's fun to kid around and I do it more then I really should, but this was rape and rape isn't funny in any way. Imagine being paralized and having some fucking moron come in and do this to you and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop them. The guy will feel raped again (by the American justice system) when the guy just gets thown in jail for a while. Real justice would be taking that fucker out behind the courthouse right after next weeks sentencing and set him up in front of a firing squad.

Fuck! And sometimes there are people who have a bad day cause they didn't win the lottery or some bullshit. Imagine how bad it really could be.
