Don wrote:To Whom It May Concern is a song written by Arnel and his brother. It's to be one of the 12 tracks on the new album. The subject matter for the song is "Peace in turbulent times".
Another possible track that may be an Arnel composition is She's A Mystery.
For our friends south of the border, South America is to be part of the next tour too along with Europe and Asia.
And just for those concerned, there was confirmation that Pineda is still restricted from performing Journey tunes on his solo gigs.

Peace in Turbulent Times. So what's the theme of this CD?
Sounds Ballady to me!!Don wrote:Jana wrote:Don wrote:To Whom It May Concern is a song written by Arnel and his brother. It's to be one of the 12 tracks on the new album. The subject matter for the song is "Peace in turbulent times".

It's supposed to be spiritual so maybe it will be Journey's own take on faith, a watered down Christian Rock type theme?
Something that fits in with Wal-Mart's stance on what kind of music it wants to put on its store shelves.
If that means they'll miss the iTunes boat again, we'll have to see.

I went by Gunbot but after meeting people here and having some of them occasionally address me by my real name in their posts, I just decided enough with the alias. Since I use my real name on Facebook anyway, it only made sense.

Who spilled? And those do sound kind of like ballads, maybe that's the only 2 on the album.

That's okay he can do the rest of the 80's catalog from other bands. Nothing like showing you are the lead
singer of Journey.

Why is it a given?? If he is a full fledged member of Journey why can't he sing whatever he wants to wherever the wants to???

He's only allowed to butcher Journey songs when he is with the rest of the band......never solo.![]()

I just watched an episode of People's Court. Legendary Judge Wapner made a guest appearance. Couldn't SP do something like that?

I'll take a stab at this one. Perhaps he's contractually bound or he just does what is suggested to keep the peace, but Journey is a collective unit and as long as you're in the band you should probably only sing those songs as a unit. Obviously, there are exceptions and he's been allowed to/chosen to sing as many as 3 songs at his charity gigs and other events. I think this promotes peace, keeps harmony and ensures that the entire band reap the profits of Journey songs being performed. I think it's more of a case of what should be done and not "why can't" it be done.
