Seems since Arnel's hire there's been nothing but peace. And the Augeri years, save the final year and anything that may have happened behind the scenes, seemed very peaceful.

Ask 78...he seems to get it....the songs are not AP's to sing are they?

The magic of Journey is Perry, Friga and Fro....and that is what makes the peace!

Well, since Neal said this album is "slammin" and "f-wicked" I'm expecting nearly all the songs to be rockers... Why would anyone think that Arnel only writes ballads? "To Whom It May Concern" and "Mystery Lady" (I can't remember the name of the other song totally) could very well be flat-out rock and roll--I hope so anyway. Whatever they come out with will be most welcome :) . I am so looking forward to whatever it is they're putting together.

Me too and I think it's great that we may get to hear Journey accomplish something great with Arnel's participation. :D

Fredinator adores Perry and actually contributes to the Journey forum by posting many great finds (clips) back in th 70s and 80s. She's just not mentally unbalanced on the subject.

The Journey songs belong to whatever 5 man incarnation made them, but anyone can sing any songs if they pay the proper licensing fees. They're not sung because, while in Journey, he gets paid to sing them as a member of the band, not solo.

If friggin "Glee" can sing them, why the F not Journey's singer (as opposed to the other one that would rather sit on the bench the rest of his life)??

Any live singing he does of Journey songs means album sales for the band and more cash from their silent partner, so why not?
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

wtf are you talking about. You addressed your "loony" question to Dan, not me--I had no and have no intention of responding to any of your posts. As far as discussion of my true identity, I don't give a flying fuck who anybody on here (except for a few dear ones) thinks I am. The post I made was a general one in response to the thread title and to get the discussion back where it belonged

Rick, you're half right--I've never been anything other than fredinator/Nancy. Susie died of ovarian cancer in December 2008, a week before Christmas. That's all I'm going to say about it.

I've seen Arnel do a couple of Journey songs off season. I can't remember if he did in his min concert last year, but I thought he did one or two. Maybe not. Saint John would know, since I think we went. If not, he did on TV a couple of times. Just no Revelation I think is allowed for sure. I don't know why. Maybe they want the songs identified with Journey and don't want to go down the Perry road again.

The plot thickens. Faking one's death on the internet. How hard is that? The fictional charactor Susie is the only thing that may have died.

Don wrote:To Whom It May Concern is a song written by Arnel and his brother. It's to be one of the 12 tracks on the new album. The subject matter for the song is "Peace in turbulent times".

Another possible track that may be an Arnel composition is She's A Mystery.

For our friends south of the border, South America is to be part of the next tour too along with Europe and Asia.

And just for those concerned, there was confirmation that Pineda is still restricted from performing Journey tunes on his solo gigs.

Peace in Turbulent Times. So what's the theme of this CD?[/quote]
Sounds like a reflection of current events....or addressing the infighting of Journey fans.... one or the other

While we'd probably all like to bow our heads in silence and say a final prayer that she's at peace in the big sanitarium in the sky with Dolan Dobbs, Siobhan777, Dolanator, Arnel Rocks and the rest of her imaginary MySpace characters, communities and MR personalities, we simply can't. And I know exactly who to ask in the Journey camp to see if there's been any contact since December of 2008. :)
