Frankie kinda mentions new music. What do you guys take from this?

I just wish artists that I like would stop talking about making new music and simply get on with it!

Interesting. I noticed near the beginning that it doesn't mention a keyboard player when listing the members of the band playing. Wonder if this was just a simple oversight or something more...ugh.

Well....

“We came out of the box with some good stuff the first time we came out of the box,” Sullivan said about his the band’s new music. “Once you set the bar, you’re stuck.”

I don't really think too much on what he said, except for playing couple of new tunes. That's more like it...I guess.

Perhaps Michael didn't want to be mentioned, oversight or since the guy in the pic isn't Michael, they edited it out. Maybe?

Honestly I take nothing from it...Same story that has been written in 3,000 small towns across the country for the past 20 years..."Tiger, Rocky, 1982, bla, bla, bla..."

One thing that is crazy is the concert world today and the prices. I can remember when a real headliner ticket was around $25, now tickets START at $30 for Survivor at a local fair....A headliner is around $100, which is crazy if you ask me...throw in a couple of beers, nachos and (if you dare) a t-shirt) and you are out an easy couple of hundred....I love rock and roll!

Andrew, can you really come out of the box a second time? :D

This statement really makes no sense...

I won't comment at all...but found this statement interesting as well...

“I’m just kind of a band guy,” he said. “I like bands — they’re team things.”

To the best I can tell, it's a quote on songwriting itself. As in, once you start writing songs at a certain level, you are unwilling to release anything that doesn't get to that level in the future. Whether that translates as writer's block, or whatever, who knows, but it means he's not going to release a cd just to release a cd--he's going to wait until he has the right songs before releasing anything. Take from that what you will...

Last time I saw Survivor it was for free and I sat in the front row at a local fair. I couldn't believe it. You are right though Eye. I have been tempted to go to a lot of show in recent years but won't pay the price for tickets. Secondly, as I get older I have no patience for moronic behavior at shows. Last time I saw Survivor someone tried to grab Robin while he was on stage.

I agree with you 100%....and since I was in the mix in the beginning stages I will take it as a good thing!! Those 6 or 7 we worked on Killed...I hope they use them...ReEntry was really cool.....I just ran across the work tape on that one the other day while preparing to move my studio...the lyrical content was cool and so was the melodic content as well....It was fun collaborating with FS....

By the way, the price deal was not a slam on Survivor at all...I just can't believe how much the prices keep going up and up and up...Of the times I've seen Survivor is was mostly free i think....I know I did pay in the 80's and I think there was a fee to get into Pleasure Island at Disney, but a couple of free times...I don't mind paying at all...just come here!

I don't think anyone took your comment about ticket prices as a slam on Survivor. I think we all agree with you. It's funny, the one act I would pay the most to see, Survivor, is one of the best deals in town as far as value, to me.

Gotta say, though... I'd pay quadruple the price if I knew Frankie and crew were going to put on a Bruce Springsteen-type 3-hour show. Bruce is the man when it comes to giving fans their $ worth!

I think we should make flexible ticket pricing where if you pay over a certain amount you get to pick at least one song on the track list...wouldn't that be cool 8)

Is it me or are there just a handful of dates this year?

I had real hope that since they were going to put out new material they would have many dates on the calendar. It recent years I remember them doing more dates.

Apparently, although I can't confirm, it seems Michael Young wasn't there. Some guy called Mitchell played keyboards.
