My favorite Michael W. Smith song

Postby G.I.Jim » Sat Jun 26, 2010 1:02 am

Just saw this version on Youtube, and have never seen the actual video before. I have this song on one of my concert dvd's from him. This is one of the most moving, most patriotic songs I've ever heard. It's called "There She Stands", and I still get goosebumps every time I hear this...

Is he the guy that sings 'my place in this world'? Like that song...

There are some Christian artists that are really good and definitely melodic pop rock at times...Steven Curtis Chapman is another artist.check of next five minutes, and whatever from him

He actually was the original guitarist and David played drums, but left after the second album...they really didn't hit their stride until Rick Florian took over on lead vocals.

Check out Freedom, Powerhouse, Tales of Wonder...some of their best work on those...imho... :)

Yes, same guy. He had some good songs like that that have become big crossover songs. I think that song is what got me interested in his music in the first place! I must have 8 or 9 of his cd's. He's my favorite christian artist, and he's not only a talented singer/songwriter/musician, but he's also one hell of a nice guy. He does a LOT for charities, and gives a lot of his own money away. I have MUCHO respect for the guy.

'God Bless the USA' came out when I was in K-9 school. Got sick of it real quick....I don't think it was the song that was sickening, per se....it was lame ass public that would sing it.....lol

I always was impressed. I am sure he has made many $$$$. I wonder if it would have been even more in a toned down rock career. I think Lou Gramm has also done Christian music, but I am glad he also still rocks !
