Unless I missed it, I don't think 7 (or myself) posted any links from MediaMatters. They are a liberal watchdog and openly say so right on their homepage - exactly how Newsbusters is a conservative watchdog. Both have their good and bad points. But again, nobody posted anything from there. If you think Factcheck or Poltifact are biased, or only go after Cons, I strongly suggest you give them another look.

A new survey of 1,502 adults released Sunday by Pew Research Center for the People & the Press found that despite the mass appeal of the Internet and cable news since a previous poll in 1989, Americans' knowledge of national affairs has slipped a little. For example, only 69% know that Dick Cheney is vice president, while 74% could identify Dan Quayle in that post in 1989.

Other details are equally eye-opening. Pew judged the levels of knowledgeability (correct answers) among those surveyed and found that those who scored the highest were regular watchers of Comedy Central's The Daily Show and Colbert Report. They tied with regular readers of major newspapers in the top spot -- with 54% of them getting 2 out of 3 questions correct. Watchers of the Lehrer News Hour on PBS followed just behind.

Bringing up the rear were regular watchers of Fox News. Less than 1 in 3 could answer 2 out of 3 questions correctly.

Democrats and Republicans were about equally represented in the most knowledgeable group but there were more Republicans in the least aware group.

OK, idiot. I'll bite.

Now, first of all, since 1998 was the warmest year according to the CRU...

http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/climon/data/themi/g17.htm

...any claims that the earth is "getting cooler" since 1998 are laughable since global temperatures continue to increase at an alarming rate every year. Even that chart, which is conservative, clearly shows that ALL research culled (and we're talking about non-NASA and non-UN data as well) shows that 9 of the 10 warmest years on record have occurred in the past ten years - the exception being 1998!

http://www.cotf.edu/ete/modules/climate/GCremote3.html

So as you can see, no matter which source being utilized...you're still wrong. Dead wrong, RightWingNotjob.

Heh heh heh...Rush is gay, too.

http://pittsburgh.indymedia.org/news/2003/10/9656.php

I don't believe it, truthfully. It's pretty funny. If this guy is 52 now, he would have had to have been 15 when he went to college. Not bloody likely, unless he was in Mensa.

He collected welfare and unemployment for six months after being fired by the Royals. So, I was wrong about just how long he had been on the government payroll, but he still was, which renders null and void his rants against...the unemployed and welfare recipients.

Gives a whole new mental view of the Golden EIB Microphone doesn't it?

But where do you get the welfare thing?? I have looked all over the internet for any source that backs yours up. And I do mean ANY...LEFT...RIGHT and CENTER...nothing.

And I am sure after he was let go by the Royals he was on unemployment...we do pay for that you know? Check your paystub. But welfare??? I don't know.

If this kind of thing happened to the fuckin' Christians, there'd be lawsuits for everyone involved.

Mind your own goddamned business and let Americans worship as they please, no matter who or how they worship. Stop being part of the mob-mentality thinking that everyone is out to get you.

If Christians continue on the path they are heading down now, they'll be no Christianity in 20 years.

Wait, hey Christians, keep up the good work.

Jim, you asked someone to point out lies that Glen Beck has told. Here's a few:

After smearing special White House adviser Van Jones for days on his show Glenn Beck noted on August 27, 2009, " I want to point out the silence. No one has challenged these facts- they just attack me personally."

Eva Patterson , of the Equal Justice Society on August 31, 2009 told a much different story than the one told by Beck. She stated categorically that Beck was fabricating his facts.

Beck has intimated as have several posts on my site that Jones was arrested and went to prison for taking part in the Rodney King riots. Ms. Patterson as the first person to interview and employ Van Jones, is in a much better position to know the truth. Van was never arrested nor served time for the Rodney King riots because he was not even in L.A. He was in San Francisco working for the Committee for Civil Rights of San Francisco Bay

He was arrested as were all legal observers at an event one week later in San Francisco. Several hours later he was released with San Francisco police department's sincere apologies and eventually won a law suit against the city for false arrest.

Beck has also lied about Jones and other Obama appointee's not being vetted by the FBI Ms. Patterson was vetted about Jones in her office by the agent vetting Jones.

Beck claimed Jones had authority to disperse and control the $500 million dollar Green Jobs Act funding. Again this is false. It is under the Department of Labor and thus dispersed by the Secretary of Labor.

Beck uses a 2005 profile in a Bay area left wing journal as proof that Jones was a Communist. The problem is that the headline and the article made it clear that the Jones had outgrown the views of his youth, something even acknowledged by Bill O' Reilly in an interview with Jones.

Beck was sadly mistaken when he said that no other President had never been sworn into office without the Bible. John Quincy Adams used a law book. Franklin Pierce wasn't even sworn in. Teddy Roosevelt used no Bible.

He lied when he said 1.4 million dollars of stimulus money went to repair a hanger door at Dyess AFB. It was actually $246,000.00

He lied when he said that the Director of White House Science and Technology Policy, " has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population." ( said on 7/22/09 on his T.V. show ) The truth is that in a book years earlier he had talked about various techniques including this one for controlling population. He never advocated it and said it would be an odious solution.

Last but not least, because Beck is still polluting the air waves, is his whopper that America has better health care than Europe. The only thing we are number one in is cost. We are 37th in the world behind almost all of Europe and Canada as well.

As for Big Government, the problem lately has not been that it was too large but through deregulation it couldn't regulate Wall Street or protect us from loan fraud, defective products and unregulated risk taking in the financial sector.

Beck is an economics idiot. Had we contracted spending instead of increased it we would be in the Second Great Depression. If we were to follow his ill advised advice and started contracting spending we would be right back in the crash economically. And as for health care, Beck the Corporate shill is pushing policies that would mean half of us would not have health care policies in five or six years and quite possibly the nation would be bankrupt because health care is 16% of our GDP and we reach the threshold of economic collapse at 20%.

Glenn Beck is nothing but a political hack and not a very bright one in the age of INTERNET where his lies can be exposed in a flash. He depends on you suspending disbelief after he arouses your fears, resentments or anger. Let Fox advertisers know if they continue to support Fox they can not count on your business until Fox puts Beck off the air. That by itself might decrease global warming.

PS On Huffington Post a blog noted that Beck has lost one half of his advertising revenue since Color of Change announced their boycott. Also try again, there were approximately 70,000 at the rally Saturday, which is still a good turnout but using a photo from a different event to make it look larger? Now thats worthy of Beck.

Rumors have persisted for years that Rush was caught with a gay prostitute in Pittsburgh back when he used the on-air name, Jeff Christie.
Considering that his whole persona is an act, it wouldn't surprise me.

7 - you see Limbaugh's NYC penthouse that is up for sale? Tell me this pad doesn't scream flaming old queen.

And what's the problem with that?

As Voltaire said: I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Except when it comes to yelling fire in a crowded venue, which is essentially what Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and Palin do daily except they're yelling lies to people too ignorant and gullible to know how dangerous they are.

Pot meet kettle.

They have the right peaceably assemble...they also have the right to be intolerant.

You seem to confuse my disgust with the wholesale manipulation of billions of gullible people through the practice of religion with intolerance toward it. I tolerate it because it's a fact of life here on the outskirts of Falwellville.

Neither of those two religious groups were as tolerant of the other's religion as I am towards that which my own grandsons are being raised into. I don't agree with it but I certainly tolerate my daughter, son-in-law and grandsons.

Now on the subject of illegal immigration you can rightfully call me intolerant.

What's the purpose of those people being at the rally? What the purpose of Christians going to a Muslim gathering? We all know they do it to fuck with everyone else and to be assholes, so why would you defend that?

Are you gonna defend Muslims protesting Christian events?

If the parade/gathering isn't for something you stand for (you is plural) you shouldn't be there.

Homosexuality isn't a twisted joke to me. It's a fact of life that some people are born with. However, things can become objects of humor regardless of their reality. Dwarfism is a reality of birth but also the object of jokes. I don't agree with joking about either and find the jokes offensive, but the jokes continue. Dwarfs are allowed to marry.

I don't buy for one minute that people are "born" that way. I have a few friends who are homosexual, and in each case, they got abused, or neglected from one parent or both. Life circumstances are what make them the way they are. One woman I know had a sister who was raped and killed by three guys. She became a lesbian as a result, and hates men.

I think people who claim they were born that way, say so to avoid feeling guilty. They say "well I can't help it, I was just born this way". I just don't believe it.

And comparing them to a dwarf is like comparing apples to oranges. It's like saying a compulsive liar is born like that. They aren't born that way, they just make choices that most don't. I'm not saying they're liars, I'm just using it as a comparison.

Throughout fucking history Jim Christians have used their God to kill, maim, enslave and discriminate against anyone and everyone that disagreed with them. The OT is full of commandments to kill others if they aren’t “following God” correctly.

Do you know your history?

Simply because they do it less in modern times is no excuse to ignore what has happened for millennia.

Right now we have a war going on that so called Christians support and they are KILLING in the name of their God against the name of the Muslim God. They don’t just kill the bad guys either buddy, they’re killing innocent men, women and children.

My issue are with people who think because I’m gay I don’t deserve equal treatment under the laws of America. If Christians want to worship as they please, that’s there goddamn deal, but if they keep trying to get everyone to follow along like blind sheep, they’ll be stopped and it won’t just be the homosexuals who rise up against them, but every minority that has been treated badly by them.

Yes, there are good Christians, but they never seem to be able to shout louder than the evil ones who think they are correct for what they believe and everyone else is wrong.

I see it every day on blogs and Facebook where Christians are saying “it’s time for war” and “we must fight for our God”, sorry Jim, that’s exactly against what Jesus Christ preached about and if those people actually believed in God, they wouldn’t be acting like idiot cave dwellers who can’t discern right from wrong and laws from religious beliefs and freedom.

Extremist Christians are as bad as the Taliban and if they continue on the path they are on, they will be dealt with as the Taliban has been.

And what's the problem with that?

It's hypocritical to mock the way they like making eachother's browneyes blue but the scream "Evil Cons" at those who don't recongize their right to get "married" whilst putting from the rough with light loafers on!

Can't have it both ways you either disaprove and recognize the lifestyle for the twisted joke it is or you support them all the way.

You should amend your last post and realize that YOURS is the most fucking idiotic statement of the day.

Unless you are homosexual, you cannot judge what makes a human being homosexual.

Just because you’re uncomfortable with it and need some kind of explanation doesn’t make it right, true or even close to what the reality of it is. Your homosexual friends obviously feel ashamed of themselves because of the way you feel about them. They’re self loathers.

I wasn’t abused as a child, both my parents were there all through my growing up and are still together. It’s a bogus fucked up premise to say that abuse equals homosexuality, otherwise the statistics alone from Catholic priests who have abused little boys would mean that every one of those boys would grow up to be homosexual and that’s just not the facts and that every woman raped by a man would become a lesbian.

Educate yourself Jim before making such blanket statements and like I said, unless you’ve lived it, you can’t judge it.

It’s sad to see you repeating such fucked up ignorant talking points.

Your comfort level has no bearing on who I am or how I got to that way, but if you truly believed the God you claim to believe in, you’d consider the chance that God has the plan and your questions only serve to show doubt in that God and His power.

Jim, most of my male friends in music school were gay.

And a majority of them came from stable, loving households.

You're a great guy but I don't agree with you on this one, at all.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

No, actually it depends on the religion. I find from your posts you seem to harbor dislike for any faith, a type of intolerence within itself maybe? Maybe not. Intolerance comes a great deal from some athiests too. They cannot stand religion to a point they would not let anyone worship or openly express themselves if they had their way. I have been told it is a sign of mental illness to believe in a God.......................Just call me special!

Look, some religions feel, and mine is included, that to harm anyone for any reason is a sin. I may not agree with someones behavior on a moral basis, but I would wish them no harm, and I am expected to love them. Am I perfect? No way! I make mistakes every day, I am human and full of error. But I try to be respectful of everyone I meet, even if I don't like them. Do I fail? You bet ya, a great deal. But I try to do better next time. I will never be perfect.

Sorry to disappoint you here Bobby, but I'm not "following any talking points". I can't say why you decided to go your route, but I'm talking from experience I've learned while talking to my friends. Maybe not everyone has the same experiences, but I'd bet my life on the fact that you weren't "born" that way. Something triggered your choices. I may be completely wrong here, but until I see some proof, I'll stick with my assessment.

And to say that my friends only feel ashamed because I "make them feel that way"? WTF??? Just like I've told you here (and in PM's), I don't care that you're that way if it makes you happy. As long as you aren't hitting on me, we're cool. I'm the same way around my other friends, and I always have a great time when I'm with them. I'm not judging them OR you, I'm just saying that it's a lifestyle I don't understand, and don't agree with.

To me, I think God made beautiful women for a reason. I'll stick with the vagina dude!

Wasn't this whole thing about testing the boundaries of the local law?
It's not about religion. It's not about the Gospel of John. Those are just philosophical props.
This vid is all about getting the local law on vid.

There are no 'babtists' (sp?). There are no Muslims. These guys are just playing pawns and trying to make clowns of the local ordinances.

Do they ever say what the local law is? No, they skirt that. They said they were told, but what is it?
Point being, there's no wrong or right. They're just seeking hits for their video.

What I'd love to see is the fallout...better yet, they should doc the city council mtg where they attempt to the change the law. I doubt we see that, but I hope we do. I mean, if these guys want change sincerely, then this cause needs to be run up the flag pole. We'll see.

Btw, all this touchy feely argument about religion & arrogance has nothing to do with this vid. These guys aren't marching on a Mosque. They're not quoting scripture. They're not telling everyone that they're in a religious war. They're just making a video. Gawd, get over all the crap, please.
