I started working on two new songs this week... They aren't very far along at all. One song is done up until the first chorus, but that's it. I have the lyrics done that far also. The other one is a pretty cool intro for a song, but that's all it is at this point. It's pretty intricate. It's a very dark song, and if I had to compare it something, I'd compare it to "Miles Away".

So jim what comes first for you, the lyrics or the melody? 8)

Usually the melody, but each song is a little different. Just depends I guess.

Um... I don't get honey do lists! I do pretty much all of the cooking, the yard work, and some of the inside cleaning. She never has to ask me to do anything. When something needs to be done, I just do it. Same goes for her. She does all of the laundry, and a good portion of the housecleaning. We just do our own thing kinda. Hell, I hadn't even thought about it until you said something!

Most of my friends get "honey do" lists all the time, and I'm like "man, that would irritate the SHIT out of me!". I guess since we both just do our parts, there's rarely anything that needs to be done or discussed. We've had 16 years of practice.

So do you lift the butt gasket "o" ring lid....because we all know it don't matter how great of a shot we are, if we don't, some always seems to get on the butt gasket "o" ring lid, especially from the "shake" at the end.

I'm actually more stringent then even my wife. She leaves the cover lid up all the time with the middle butt gasket "o" ring lid down. I friggin hate that. I need both the butt gasket lid and the top cover lid down when not in use!

Started off being a thread about nice things.....then digressed into a male discussion about the butt gasket. Guess he couldn't think of enough nice things..............

Hey guys........do you have the furry butt gaskets like they did in the 60's? Those things were creepy! And Heaven only knows what grew on them!

I don't think anyone uses those now, or at least anyone I know of, but back in the day about everyone during that era had one of those on their pots at one time or the other. Now that super duper buttwipe holder that holes three rolls that you got in that picture, we didn't have one of those. I do remember though when I was a very little kid my grandmother on my father's side of the family had one of those floor ashtrays sitting up next to the pot and she'd smoke a cigarette or two while pinching off a loaf.

Arianddu wrote:Ok, some sunshine... let's think...

I'm 2/3 of the way through my exams, and so far have aced them (I think). What's left is the stuff I know best. Once these exams are over, I'm past the half way mark on my degree.

I have great friends that I love and who love me, all over the world. Every day I get to communicate, one way or another, with someone who can make me smile and I get to make them smile back.

I own my home, I have no debts, I only have to walk to the kitchen to get food, I have enough good quality clothes to keep me covered and warm for maybe 5-10 years, and my income is still just bigger than my essential expenditure. Those five things alone make me incredibly wealthy compared to the majority of people living in the world right now.

I live in a country where my gender does not stop me from getting an education, having a job, owning property, walking the street, getting justice in court, travelling alone, getting proper medical aid, having rights to my own body or expressing my opinion. I am luckier than 4/5 of the women in the world.

I live in a country where I have medical care that I can afford and that I can trust. The odds of me dying from malaria, measles, polio, dysentry, cholera or plague are so minute as to be almost zero. The odds of me dying of pneumonia, influenza or sceptecemia are very small, and if it happened, would more than likely be because I'm also ill with something else, or because I chose not to get treated. If I die of malnutrition, it's because I chose not to eat.

I live on a low income, theoretically below the bread line for my country, but I have luxury items in every room of my house; television, dvd player, movies, cds, 2 computers, a microwave, a fridge and a freezer, a sewing machine, an electric blanket, books, games, carpets, electric fans and heaters, radios, lounge chairs, silverware, a blender, cameras, telephone - every one of them things my grandparents did without when they were growing up in the Depression.

By my nation's standards, I'm fairly poor. By the world's standards, I'm fairly wealthy. By my own standards - I guess have all I need, even if I do feel broke most of the time. Better yet, I have more than just material things - I have great friends. Some of them here on MR.

Yeah, I'm rich. :D

Beautifully said. You sound like a really great person.
