Sigh. Mel's been living in LaLa Land for too long, surrounded by people telling him he's great and never saying no to him. I know Robin was trying to be a good Catholic wife and stuck with him for a lot longer than she should have, but seriously, he needed a wake-up call 10 years ago. Oksana isn't the reason his marriage failed or his life and career fell apart - his actions are - but from that article, it sounds like he's blaming her for losing his marriage. Fell in love with the glamour, thought she would be so much more than the middle-aged wife, and then discovered that you need 25+ years of marriage to have the loyalty, the understanding, the compassion, all the things that made his first marriage worthwhile. She isn't a fake, she just isn't the cure-all magic fairydust partner he thought she'd be, and once he fell out of love, there was nothing left to make him feel better about himself.
Bastard needs to get home to Australia for a few years and remember what it's like to be a human being. You can't get that kind of entitled attitude here - too many people take the piss the moment you start acting like you're entitled. The man needs to sober up, sure, but he also needs to remember to have a little humility.
The sad thing is, once upon a time he was actually a decent actor. Somewhere along the Hollywood processing line, he became a heart throb and a draw card and an action hero, and forgot about all the things that used to make him a decent actor - empathy, understanding, humility.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
