Gotta love the Chubster for lasting here and still cheerful.

Agreed....but man that was asking for it.

Chubby is a Pinhead through and through...I respect that....I don't envy it.

Why was that asking for it?? Chubby just posted what was stated on a metal forum and appears in a lot of other forums.

All I can say is You Go Chubs!!!!!!

It was a post that will ask for many comments...no???

So there are a few or maybe a lot of opinions out there that think todays Journey can still make a difference? I'm still supporting that!!

BTW: I'm on my 3rd glass of wine. Screw the diet!!!

Diet.....agreed screw it.

Hey....I call it how I see it...and that was a post that was asking for trouble...just sayin.

No, once again, no old bands have new material played on Rock radio. That standard isn't fair for melodic rock. This ain't the 80s.

Recap from SACRED REICH Frontman

"Highlights from Bang Your Head!!! fest: JOURNEY! Holy crap, they crushed everyone. Their sound was perfect. Their new singer was incredible. They cranked out hit after hit. "

"I got to hang out and have a chat with Neil Schon [JOURNEY guitarist] for about twenty minutes. That was cool as shit. He was telling me stories about touring with SANTANA when he was 15! Nice guy and amazing guitar player! "

Remember, Rock Radio is no longer king. I'm posted last week I wanted to visit a new casino and as I walked in "Where Did I Lose Your Love" was playing. Granted, I know you will call it musik, but I understand it did quite well with Sirius.

Look portland, pay attention now, I don't want to hear hear Arnel doing classic Journey on the radio. That music belongs to SP. But to measure Journeys success now, based on if they get played on the radio is ridiculous.

Absolutely true, Since 78. My beloved Tears for Fears put out an amazing album in 2004 and it's RARELY played. A shame. Great songs. So what, I'm supposed to measure their success against their 80s success? They're out there putting out music still. That's success.

Too bad Revelation's not on itunes. The Wal-Mart deal was too good to pass up at that time but now that album's trapped, unless Journey has an out where after so many years they can end the exclusivity agreement.

As I said in my original quote, many radio stations have always announced 'Steve Perry AND Journey', from when he was still with the band. Nothing's really changed much as far as identity goes for the classic material on the radio.

Bon Jovi just had that 12 sold out shows in 13 nights run over at the O2 in London. Not to many acts from the 80s can pull that off. I know a lot of people hate Jon for whatever reason but the band still brings it.

Like I said, the band should let him sing the new stuff to develop his identity when he's out on his own, the guy can sing and proven it already so let him spread his wings. We know he can do the older material but that's not going to change anything when it comes out to which music is played on the radio or is licensed out to TV. Augeri had his own catalog of songs that turned out pretty damn good. Let Arnel enjoy doing stuff where there is no one to be compared to because he is the original guy, el numero uno, ichi-ban.

Just for the sake of argument. If Perry had denied access for Sopranos to use DSB, or for any of the TV shows movies to use any of the songs that he has a stake in over the last few years, would Journey still be where they are now, especially in Europe where every single interview points to the Sopranos as the catalyst for interest in Journey?
Just saying, when you wield that kind of power over catalog usage, I just can't see you being obsolete. If you disappear and no more licenses are granted for any of the songs you have copyright on, wouldn't that almost make the current band obsolete to the media beyond doing concert tours and Arnel's story, especially if there was no Glee license to carry momentum forward when they aren't touring?
