He does. Where did anyone say he doesn't? He obviously wasn't going to be the full-time keys player because he helped create one song. That honor went to JC and he helped them reach the stratosphere of the industry and put the mostly horrid songwriting behind them.

That blurb from Time 3 gave credit to Tim Gorman.

Hey, you know what Dan, I'll go you one further.....Steve Perry didn't bring all that success to the band. Jon Cain did. The difference in Journey from pre-Cain and Post Cain from a commercial standpoint is absolutely stunning. Take a look at the lyric book both before and after. Perry, my main man, is the voice for the band, but Cain is the voice of the people, which made all the difference for this band.

Absolutely. Neal, Jon, and Steve Perry could not have made the magic on their own that their chemistry did in the band Journey. I guess what I meant was that the missing ingredient from the success of a...Say, "Where Were You" versus a "Who's Cryin' Now" is a lyrical piece of the puzzle that Cain was able to bring to the table. Don't get me wrong.....Cain without Perry or Schon is nothing when combined with that magical energy Perry and Schon (and Rolie) had already cultivated. I look at it this way....There's a pool of primordial pop music soup sitting there, and all the proteins and amino acids are all sitting there in play, and then Cain's lyrical and melodic energy strikes like a godfinger, setting the stage for what would become superstardom beyond any of their individual reach.

Nice to see Cain getting the praise he so rightfully deserves on MR, but never gets, regarding his songwriting. I have always said you could see the difference in the songwriting when he came on board. I love a lot of the Rolie era too, and was right for the time. But they needed to progress, and Cain definitely took them to the next level with their music.

I have to laugh at you saying this. If Jeremey had said Steve Perry brought all the success to the band, we wouldn't have heard a peep out of you correcting him by saying "Don't you think it was the sum all three parts, really." LOL.

Yeah, wasted on three bottles of Merlot....my analogy was....

a moth, harmless in nature, heads for the BBQ picnic corn....so as not to say the human could swat it's sorry ass to oblivion.

Make more sense dude? Sorry, Hammered.

You are forgiven besides the fact that you're drinking red wine. I expect you to be guzzling PBR Tall Boys, not fuckin red wine.

I just can't get into it man. I don't mind a glass of Riesling if someone orders a bottle and I'll always drink champagne, but I'd rather just drink beer.

I buy this red Merlot from Ralphs(Kroger) for 1.97 a bottle. Lula is in NY, so I get the boy down, flip on Nascar, and hammer the Merlot. It's genius.
