Piano In The Dark...

Postby G.I.Jim » Tue Jul 06, 2010 11:50 am

Just saw this yesterday, and I forgot how much I loved this song when it came out! It's such a smooth, deep song and I LOVE the melody and (of course) the piano in it. It's awesome! This version is a live version with Michael McDonald on backing vocals, and is by far my favorite! Check this out....

Oh yes, I always loved this song too, from way back when!! Has a sexy vibe to it. Whatever happened to Brenda Russell anyway :?

Great song, Michael McDonald just puts these kinda ballads over the edge (see also: Toto - I'll Be Over You).

These two ballads are on equal footing with the best Journey ballads, no doubt... When You Love a Woman and Faithfully vs I'll Be Over You and Won't Hold You Back are dead even for me.

May be for you, but Perry's voice trumps any for me. His song Melody is beautiful. I like Toto, so does my husband, but live, or otherwise, Journey trumps Toto for both of us.

I agree with all counts and posted mostly as a joke to you.

The former Zoo is here now aka Ammo. Here is one of their sound checks in Reno a couple days ago.

James Ingraham sang back up with M. McDonald. I believe at the time she was married to Leon Russell. I might be wrong about that though. Great singer.
