I read that KS passage and what grabbed me was "30." That's about how long Journey has been making records with Shirley. My money says this has absolutely everything to do with the Saints in Journey.

That's a stretch. He mentioned how long he's been in the business, almost 30 years. Sometimes a sentence means what it means, nothing more.

Re it being Journey, the majority of the album is done for Journey. They're not coming back until fall with just a little more to do.

I read on his facebook page awhile back that he was having trouble with Black Country--specifically Glenn Hughes--and maybe one or two others in the band over money.

I also just read this:

They're coming back in Nov to redo it all with Perry, and turn some of his new solo stuff into Journey.
That's the real reason for the break this summer. Ha.
