Todd Jensen played bass for Perry's band. This was almost immediately after he played in Hardline with Neal. Makes you wonder if Neal suggested the Perry gig to Jensen...

I don't think he demonstrated that through his '83 interviews, I'm thinking of the Street Talk interview and earlier. He seemed much more open, looked at the camera, was very engaging and didn't spew out the same phrases. The most recent interview I remember hearing with Dennis Miller was controlled by SP with the same stories, sound bites, phrases that we've heard before. Very forced laughing and just sounded like he was dying to be somewhere else.

Something happened to him around 1984 and he seemingly lost it in 1986 and on. I can see the breakup with Sherrie, the rigors of touring life and the death of his mother being the perfect storm to crush his world, but I think he strung along and fucked the wrong people.

Dan if you are that "fucked up" then you actually don't care or understand who are fucking over....and well it was a lot for a normal person to deal with..let along someone who was touring like he was.

I get that you think he did it on purpose..but you know we are all human...you ever fucked something up that you wish you could take back??

10+ years, the TBF era, should have been plenty of time to regain his faculties.

Please, Dear God, don't go. All we will hear are how it's not the same over and over.      Sorry, Portie. You're just too dyed in the wool Perry-loon. Nothing wrong with that, but know your limitations. That's like me going to a Tears for Fears concert without Roland there and Curt and someone else instead. My friend, who loves Curt, would be fine. I couldn't last a song.

True. But after he regrouped, his heart was always into being a solo artist. Against the Wall and For the Love of Strange Medicine, exhibits A and B.

Now, after TBF, I can't answer why he retreated for so long.

You've seen what you've been missing on all the tons of links from concerts we've posted for a year and a half, and I've yet to see you compliment one. Though, you did remark on a few of the less than great ones. Know thyself.

You should go. It's not the same, but they're still damn good. Damn, damn good. And Arnel puts his heart and soul into it, and is a huge ball of energy. I hope you do go. Just go to the concert with a positive mindset and enjoy the music. :)

Yep. I listened to FTLOSM 2 or 3 times too before I decided I could never listen to it again. Wanted to at least give it a chance.

It wasn't entirely crap to me; I like Tuesday Heartache (It reminds me of Hounds of Love-era Kate Bush crossed with U2), Somewhere There's Hope, the title track, and Stand up... but that's about it.

It suffers from having way too many ballads and middle-of-the-road numbers-- and the fact that many of those ballads just drag or are just a bit too much on the cheesy side for me to endure. Plus, all those ballads seem to be one-after-another. It's a bad track order. If there were more rockers and better quality ballads more spaced out on the record (Oh yeah, and less breathy sounds ) it would've been fine.

Why is it ok to you for Neal, Azoff, or anyone else to 'fuck over' someone, because hey, it's just a business, yet SP is demonized for his perceived 'fucking over' people? :? Just sayin...

And who exactly are these wrong people you're referring to?
