for what it's worth the HLS Live and Big Drum cds are now back in stock on his website. The live cd, raw as hen's teeth as it may be, is every bit as good as Andrew said it was. Nice to hear a live cd that is actually 100% live.

He's a bit raw live, but at least in the studio, Henry Lee Summer is pretty underrated as a singer. Take one listen to him and it's pretty obvious he did a bunch of listening to Motown/soul singers in his younger days.

For sure, probably one of the reasons I dig his vocals. Kind of a grittier Eric Martin. I can definitely hear some of that influence on Hands On The Radio http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOEXVB7kBjk

And thanks for the info. :)

I hear Springsteen's Glory Days at minimum 3 times a day now at work (considered a tie-in to baseball theme promotion, along with Take Me Out to the Ballgame :? ) and it's great every time! Nobody can grow tired of Glory Days!

OK, this is a bit of a weird one 8) - heard this song on So You Think You Can Dance last night. I do like this kind of music once in awhile (have to be in the mood for it), so I bought the CD (kind of like swing music, but not exactly) - lots of fun songs :D. They kind of remind me of Squirrel Nut Zippers - another of my favorites. Saw them live a couple of years ago and it was a blast.

If you can track down the I've Got Everything cd, you'll hear the Motown influence quite a bit--especially on Don't Leave.
Slamdunk might be his best vocals though. Forever Ain't What It Used To Be is one of the most sensitive vocals I've heard in a long time.

Vince Neil's "Long Cool Woman."

Amazing hard rock/metal cover off the new album.

I've been in a "music desert" lately - not feelin' it...until I heard this song twice on the radio in the last month or so...never heard it before, had to look up who it was...I like the sound - mostly the instruments, not sure what the lyrics are about: Smashing Pumpkins "1979" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrivjzw0RlI
