Well, didn't the show Cyndy go to have a nice crowd. What's KLOS?

The local classic rock station in L.A. they have Uncle Joe Benson, the King Loon.

Neal is more suited for Festivals when he is sans Journey. I mean SP had the good fortune of half a dozen top 40 hits away from Journey. Neal's biggest claim to fame without Journey consists of a Diane Warrren Song that he refuses to play ever again and and a few tunes with a keytar playing Jan Hammer.

Tell them '78, Southern California is Steve Perry country through and through. Despite having one of the largest Filipino populations in the U.S., Journey still doesn't do as well here with out Perry as they do in other parts of the country. Uncle Joe is loud and proud about it too.

Absolutely, I think that's been one big problem for journey at least here, going back to SA. They refuse to play anything new from Journey and Uncle Joe...SP this and SP that!

Don't forget. Modesto sold-out with a lot of radio support from the local station. The Fillmore had a great crowd although not sold-out. I think N. Cali knows what to expect from Schon solo. I still hope he doesn't give up on the solo shows, maybe we might still see the DVD from the Fillmore. :D

Arnel drew 4,000 the other night in Reno. For a guy who has almost zero original music and was singing in a bar 4 years ago, that is amazing. Yeah, the Filipino community supported him but when you see the ticket prices, it is mind boggling. Especially when you think of Journey and two opening acts playing a 5,000 seat Greek Theatre for the same ticket prices or or even less.

Granted he can only get away with this for a few shows that are in ethnically viable areas or ones that are easily accessible for outside travelers but still quite an achievement for him.

I thought it was something last year when he was playing 2,000 capacity venues, and I was shocked he was filling them. But this really is, considering where he was a few years ago. Impressive.

I'm not gonna shortside Rachel Ann Go. She was definitely part of the package here regardless of what some may say. Her presence helped make this concert a sure bet for a lot of people who might have been put off by the ticket prices.
In the Philippines, she is the real deal as far as recognizable stars go.

Well, for those prices you should definitely have an opening act. And instead of an opening act, he had her and she performed with him on some duets, I'm sure, and did some songs solo.

I saw where she was called an opening act but she had about as much stage time as he did. If it's in the Philippines their roles are reversed so I see this more about her getting her foot in the door here with stateside Filipinos, the same thing Arnel is trying to do back home.

From what I read of the setlist of the Love Rocks concert when they did it in Asia , 34 songs were performed. And most all were Arnel or some duets with her.

Arnel did three medleys. Are they counting those as Individual songs?

Yeah, sorry, I meant to say 28 or whatever it would be.

Looking at the setlist, she was more of a special guest really when you see that she didn't actually open the show but sort of came on at different intervals.

Oh well, still impressed for all of them and I tip my hat.
Note, this doesn't change my opinions concerning Arnel and Journey, whatever those may be, so plokkers take heart, I'm still an asshole, less you think otherwise.

Not obsolete. Just being happy to sit on the bench.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

There wasn't much advertising was there? I don't remember it being listed on the ticket master site, anyway I think it could have been a lot better, KLOS etc..

And I'm ignoring that lame comment portland.

I haven't listened to KLOS in awhile. 100.3 The Sound is my favorite now. Too late, Good Morning Girl/Stay Awhile, really nice to have a station willing to play those B Hits.
