Ok, I'm sorry but I have morbid sense of humor at times. It was a joke and it's true, we are all dying, that's what aging is. Don't read more into it.

And you ought to talk to some of the more crude forum members about editing themselves. :D

At least I didn't tell you to go suck your own vag, like someone like Deano would have said.

I know, you're right. When it gets too crude, I just bail. I think about Neal's kids reading here and they're still young and might not get the joke. Plus, it's like throwing ice water on kind of a happy tone in the thread (if I have the right thread, lol).

Neal is a big boy and I think he can edit for his kids when grown up things are said. No doubt he is a great guitarist. I bought a fender stratacaster and want to learn to play it because I admire his abilities. If I can get Mary had a little lamb out of it one day that will probably be an accomplishment. LOL! Now I don't care for people bashing him or anyone else in the band. I don't think Andrew is too keen on that either. But I cannot control what anyone posts here but me. Stevo is a goofball and I got his joke. I am just dying too.........for some new tunes from him. :D But for right now I will live.

Don't know??.....I just got deleted.

I've been deleted three times. I PM'd him and said WTF man? Why do you keep taking me off of your friends list? It's not him, it's a glitch with the 5000 maximum friends thing that keeps doing it.

Well I am excited that Neal is finally working on another solo album - that's the best news I've heard in a while! I hope it isn't another Pirahna Blues though - Beyond the Thunder, Voice, and Late Nite were much better and I did not like the vocals on PB either. I would rather Neal sing his own songs or play instrumental.

If Neal goes on a solo tour again, I think it would be more successful if he doesn't try to put together a band and just does his own thing, but it sounds like the band was also playing the least well-received of Journey's older catalogue (Red 13, etc.). He has made beautiful music that has nothing to do with Journey - why not focus on that? (But stay away from the shredding - sorry, the rest of us are getting older and can only handle so much of that now!) A good promoter could work wonders, so he definitely needs to find a new one. Herbie did wonders for Journey back in the early days - maybe he is bored with retirement and could use a project!

+1

My thoughts, exactly. Neal's solo work is absolutely beautiful, and can (and should) stand alone. I never understood this confusing, jumbled, hodgepodge of material (i.e. some solo, some Soul Sirkus, some early Journey, etc.). Keep it simple. Neal, you just do YOU...only next time with better promotions.

IDK if this belongs here or not, but I'm not gonna start a thread about it and I wanted to share my thoughts.

I was riding in my car today with my XM radio on. I was flipping through the channels and on channel 25 the screen said "Journey" was playing. I expected it to be OA or DSB, but it was actually AATY. It was the first time I'd heard any of the newer material on XM. It's a great song and Neal's solo is amazing. So kudos to Arnel and the rest of the band for such a great song getting airtime on XM.

Now, for the 'loon' part... I think that song would've been a great 'reunion' song for SP to have sung with the band. The message of the song combined with the magic of SP's voice and Neal's guitar would've made it an instant hit, IMO. Of course, now it will never be, but a loon can still reflect on what coulda been. :)

I used to hear that song on local radio. A lot of MR members make fun of that song. But I liked it, but later on I realized I really like it a lot. It really snuck up on me.

For all the hoopla, Satellite radio is still a niche market, only making up 10% or less of the listening Arena. Being a tech nerd, I really had high hopes for it. Even after the merger though, it struggles along. At first, free terrestrial radio was it's biggest competitor but now Pandora and the internet have become the stronger threat to eventually kill it off.

I think the song really dates the band, and that's one of the reasons I think it would've been a perfect song for SP to sing with them. I had heard it a few times on a local soft rock station, but had never seen it on XM on any of the channels.

I look forward to both. Great music is always a blessing in my life. Neal does such wonderful solos. Jon, too. They both amaze me with their abilities.
