Look at what team owner's and managers do all the time with some of their star players like Joe Montana,Mcnabb to name a couple. They get rid of them to rebuild for the future, so what is the big deal that Lebron wanted a change. I have no problem with this whole thing. It is a business, so if owner's do it, so can the players. I think this owner is a dumbass to write such a letter.

"Make him a free agent?" LOL. I hope you're a woman that follows absolutely no sports.

It's not about leaving

It's about colluding with other players and misleading a team from top to bottom, making a spectacle of yourself for no reason, and embarrassing your home city on national TV.

Yea, whatever. They allowed him to become a free agent, so they have no reason to bitch cause he chose another team. I follow football anyway, not basketball. I have never watch Lebron play or otherwise, so I have no idea if he was an embarrassment or what.

They didn't allow him to do anything. Listen close, you goddamn buffoon. He signed a 3-year deal because he was colluding with his buddies, Moe and Larry. Due to that collusion, he refused to sign a longer deal despite the team's best efforts to lock him down. How is that "allowing him to become a free agent?" God you're dense.

No, YOU"RE the dipshit here. It doesn't matter whether it's basketball or football, hockey or baseball, you don't "make a player a free agent." The player decides if he wants to become a free agent, ie, not signing a long term deal, or any deal for that matter. You try to lock him up if you want to keep him, which Cleveland obviously tried to do offering him 3 year deals and so forth. Like Matt said, James played the Cavs, and had absolutely NO intention of staying in Cleveland. He lied right to the camera when asked if Cleveland was in the running for his services. He was talking and planning(colluding), with Wade and Bosh about playing together three years ago. They had their plan and executed it. You are clueless. By the way, calling Matt egotistical is basically telling him he knows what he is talking of regarding this subject. Why don't you go fuck yourself.

HAHAHAHA! WHAT A COUPLE OF UP-TIGHT ASSHOLES! YEA I AM CLUELESS YOU DUMBASS CAUSE I SAID I DO NOT FOLLOW BASKETBALL! I guess you both do not know what that means. Egotistical does not mean he knows what he is talking about, it means he think he knows cause he is so full of himself, and if the owner of a team does not want to renew a contract,it means he becomes a free agent, it forces the player to become one.

Very good asshole. The fact is the Cavs owner DID try to sign him on more than one occasion. James clearly played Cleveland and had no intentions of signing. He left in his own mind three years ago. Just because you want to sign a player, and offer him the maximum amount of money you can(and Cleveland did), does not mean he is staying. Geez, you're fucking dense.

Dude, what don't you get? The point is you didn't have to watch or follow the whole James saga. I didn't. It made me sick to watch all the time. The point is you don't understand free agency.

On another angle-

Get this story-

Jesse Jackson says Gilbert is a mean guy, who defamed Lebron and basically called him a "runaway slave" for leaving Cleveland. Man this guy is too much. I wish he would die of AIDS.

a free agent, unrestricted is a player whose contract with a team has expired and who is thus eligible to sign with another club or franchise.

Restricted free agent,a player is free to solicit offers from other teams, but his current team has a chance to match the offers. Wow, I guess I don't understand. lmao!

Your line of reasoning is this:

The Cavs should not have let LeBron become a free agent so they could have avoided this whole mess. You imply that there was some kind of active decision by Cavs management to "allow" this to happen. That cuts against the grain of what "free agency" (operative word being free, as in free choice) is all about.

The reality is this:

There was NOTHING they could do. The guy left in his mind 3 years ago when he signed his bullshit short-term deal that handicapped us from building a team of young players around him. Instead, it put pressure on us to win NOW. They neither wanted to nor let him become a free agent. He did it despite their earnest desires that he would re-up his contract.

Where in the world are you getting this notion that since they [Cavs management] "let" him become a free agent, they are now reaping what they sowed? Would you have them hold a gun to his head and force him to extend his contract, or what? I don't get your retarded reasoning because it's retarded.

I also don't know why you would insist on commenting on something you are admitting to be uninformed regarding. Puzzling.

Let me see; Lebron is 25, single, rich, world class athlete.... Cleveland is a perfect spot! You idiots in Cleveland have no clue.

Miami is the perfect spot for LeBron. He can enjoy life and win basketball games. Cleveland he could just win games, no one enjoys life in Cleveland. The Flats? South Beach? Seriously. Have you ever been?

Best athlete in Cleveland now? Antwan Jamison? Jake Delhomme? Carlos Santana? What a rat hole city."

I can't wait to watch Josh Cribbs run all over the rapist-less Steelers once again. Far and away the best athlete in the city right now.

You're going to need more than one player to take it to Pittsburgh next season, who returns the same veterans who won 2 rings together (Troy's returning, Larry Foote is returning as well as Bryant McFadden on the corner) so I doubt that rare mis-communication that happened so much last season to Pittsburgh defense will falter with experienced veterans back in the lineup, esp against a Cleveland team who basically has no backbone other than Cribbs who will be contained by most defenses throughout the season and will get beat up with how many times he will be handling the football.

Fuck I miss football.

Browns 2-0 vs Steelers this year. Book it. Holmgren and Hecker are building somethin special.

I really wish I could take your trash talk seriously. Until that ever happens in our lifetime, I'll keep laughing my ass off at that comment. (Trash talking aside, I would really love to see the Cle/Pitt rivalry come back for what it's worth.)

I think I'm comin to Pittsburgh next week from either Wed-Sun or Th-Sun.

Awesome, what for? I'll be working steady 3-11 starting Monday, but we've been shutting down as of late so I might be able to get off a day this week but it depends on other business's. Text me if your in town maybe we could grab a late brew.

Dude, make the playoffs then you can talk. You guys aren't even a concern to Cincinnati and Baltimore.

(You know I can't let this comment slide.)

You're SERIOUSLY telling the Steelers fan to "make the playoffs first" while the Browns fan is talking shit to a Steelers fan, where his team won 1 game against Pittsburgh since the 2003 season, which totaled of 14 games in a time frame of 6 years? Let alone only beating Pittsburgh a total of 3 times this whole decade and only making the playoffs ONCE in 2002 who of course, lost to Pitt.

Since 2000 the Browns made it to the playoffs a total of 1 time. The Steelers made it 6 times with 4 AFC Title appearances and 2 SB victories. The regular season W/L ratio from the two teams since 2000 is as follows. Steelers: 103-56-1; Browns: 57-103 & you're telling the Steelers fan to "talk when you make the playoffs"? Wow, some logic.

Cinci has a "Steelers week" and Baltimore went as far as to make shirts that says "Screw Pittsburgh" (within the TEAM, not the fans.) The Ravens very recently lost a Conference game to the Steelers so I'd say beating Pitt is DEF on their minds since Pitt won the recent 2 SB's within the division. I'm SURE the same thing applies to such teams as the N.Y Jets when defeating a team like New England within their division, even though N.E took a step back.

I understand your hate for the Steelers and I get that BUT atleast pay attention to the conversation and confront the right fan within the convo of the two teams (not all 32) discussed and put two and two together with the right form of logic of history between the two franchises since the 1999 season and the history that followed since that time period and you would re-tract your words of flattery to me & back to Matt. In the words of Monday Night Football: "C'MON MAN!"

Utah will always be a number 4-7 team in the west. As long as LA is alive, Utah will never make it out of the conference playoffs. My suggestion to you? Watch college ball and pick a new team to root for.
