Educate yourself on the issue Rick. I don't care if it's one state or 30 states or 50 states, the Federal Gov't is solely responsible for border enforcement, not the individual states.

I do see the argument that AZ would want to protect itself, and that if the Feds won't do their job of enforcement, then AZ will. Yet it is still the Feds responsibility. This AZ law will be overturned, bank on it, even with the 5-4 majority in the Supreme Court if we ever get that far.

Dean, John and Ken had the guy who wrote the bill on the radio the other day and he says there is no way for it to be over turned because the issue has already been decided many times in the courts. Apparently they have always upheld over the years that States have the right to pass this kind of law and that they work with the Feds in enforcing all the time. He seemed to be pretty confident.

You really think Holder would challenge this if he didn't think he had an outstanding shot at defeating it? No way does this bill stand. By the way, was the guy in question Kris Kobach? If so, the guy is co author of the bill and is an ex Bushie worker. What you expect the guy to say? "I hope it stands?" Come on 78.

Ishn't Holder the same guy who challenged the unconstitutional "oil drilling ban" and get his ass handed to him? Obama's whole administration is a joke.

To you they are. However, Holder was right to challenge that oil drilling ban. It was absolutely the right call to make.

You think when a beer truck crashes and kills people all beer production should cease for 6 months?

No, however, each and every plane crash is fully investigated AND airlines have proven to be safe and most carriers conform to rules and regulations regarding safety. BP had over 100 violations, and an oil spill causes a helluva lot more strife than a fuckin plane crash. Look at how many lives are affected? You guys are too much. Maybe the hours after 9/11 the FAA should have put the planes right back in the air?

No, because we knew what caused those planes to crash and wanted to prevent more.

We also know what happened in the case of this oil rig. You reference BP having 100+ violations. Ok, then why shut everyone down? It makes no sense, and is causing serious harm.

How many oil rigs have had a spill in the last year...5 years...20 years?

You're 100% correct, yet no state in this country is sought out like California. We're the envy of the world, let lone the country. You can find everything in the world in California.

Yeah, I know I'm a little late on this one, but.....

I think there are even more people that are seeking to get OUT of California. I can't tell you the number of people I know that have recently left because of the terrible atmosphere of the state.

Idiot, idiot, idiot.

If you knew anything about anything, you would know MMS was comprised entirely of Bush cronies, and those "awards" of which you speak were initiated by the Dubbya "Administration" but were presented two months into the Obama Administration. Considering the horrendous mess the Worst President in History left behind, he had more than enough on his plate already.

They are moving here in droves, luv those Californians. They're happy to be here, they constantly remark about how affordable it is to live here, and they're bringing MONEY with them. They're a real boost to the economy. :) We'll take all the rich ones that want to get out.

Yeah, people are just flocking to fucking Idaho  . Look, California is in a funk, but you really think it will last? More people, and this is fact, move to California than any other state. We'll rebound, and once again be America's paradise. I'm guessing San Francisco and San Diego get bit more tourists than Boise or Sandpoint. Yes Ntalie, I know Idaho. Worked there for years. Actually a nice state, but it's not California. There's a reason California has 55 electoral votes and Idaho has 4. Not to pick on ID, but we have FAR more than ANY state and it's no coincidence.

Yes, but wouldn't you agree, a nice big city, with natural beauty, close to mountains, rivers and whatever else is fairly intoxicating. I just love that place. If I didn't have a new son, I would be there in 30 hours.

I think I'm firmly rooted in CA. I've visited a handful of other states (west coast and New England) and none have made me say "I could live here".

I'm fine if "everyone" is moving out of California. Less demand for everything here!
