What's With All This Frozen Yogurt?

Postby rockinfayrose » Tue Jul 13, 2010 12:58 pm

It strikes me odd that with the crappy economy, businesses of all genres closing shop and every third window showcasing a FOR LEASE sign, that Frozen Yogurt stores are popping up everywhere you turn :? Any comprehendible theories on why this is? It all started with Pinkberry and now there's all these other places with real cheesy names...Red Mango, TuttiFrutti, YogurtLand, Penquins, The Big Chill, Yogen Fruz, Froyo Girl, Yogurt Haven...the list goes on and on. I like an occassional frozen yogurt as much as the next guy but I think this fad is going overboard. What makes all these people who have some cash to lay down say, "Hey, let's open a frozen yogurt shop!!" :?

Los Angeles must be ahead of the times, froyo is a craze that came and somewhat passed 2-3 years ago  While I was at UCLA there were at least 5 frozen yogurt shops within THREE BLOCKS of campus after Pinkberry caught on. Now it's pretty much just Pinkberry, Red Mango, and Yogurtland.

I still enjoy me some yogurt. I'm glad pay-by-ounce became popular... pay-per-topping was ridiculous.

Frozen yogurt? What I want to know is what about all these home psychic places? Regular houses with big signs posted on the lawn (saw one today was a fancy sign in an expensive neighborhood?!) They must be making money.

There was a frozen yogurt craze in the early '90s, I think and they 'poof' they all disappeared? Now they are back again...what happened? Better flavor?

 :? That's questionable as well, but still more understandable than all these frozen yogurt joints...unless you're a guy of course  I used to love TCBY and then they faded into extinction...I had a free coupon for Jamba Juice's frozen yogurt and it had a strange aftertaste :x

Avoid that kind of things (cookies, ice cream, candy etc.) for a year, and the hunger for it will completely go away. Don't give into the urge, and you'll be better in no time :)

Really the sweets are not my temptation. I have problem more with breads. I love bread, pretzels, etc........but those were tempting looking. I have been a really good girl. I have stayed primarily with the stuff I am allowed to have. I won't eat anything bad for me right now. We went to my mother in law's to watch the all stars game. She had grilled brats. I brought a baked cod that I had prepared and a salad. The only desert I had was catalope. See..........I am being good! I keep telling myself I can get a whole new wardrobe if I behave. Not to mention feeling better and less pain.

Good girl! You're the master of your own body, not the other way around - and that's good.

Don't mind the "you ain't gonna eat ma cake? Jesus, you on a diet?!" things, cause you'll hear that a lot. They'll be the one who's envious at you when you're all perky and tight. :)

I just noticed a new one yesterday called "Orange Leaf". It's self-serve, so they give you these huge bowls and then charge you a ton for it, LOL. It was good though!

Give it a rest. Jesus. Your stuff is getting old. Real old. And laughing at your own jokes isn't cool - it's the number one sign of insecurity.

Seriously, how you can keep thinking this shit is funny, is beyond me.
