I would LOVE to see Steve do some things with Rolie. I don't think Gregg is one to hold a grudge forever and the bluesy type music he does at his shows would really compliment Perry without him having to do any vocal histrionics.
Unfortunately, since Gregg lives in Texas, I don't think he was involved here.

I think this Perry/Journey sighting is based on the same criteria.
Don wrote:I'll say this is the probably the last original album coming from the band, reunion or not. I think the financial windfall with Wal-Mart was the only reason Revelation even got released. I figure this upcoming album is more to appease some of the newer fans and then that's it, the band simply becomes a touring act until they retire.

Pure speculation at this point based on your conservative opinion Don.....
How do you know what kind of deal they have lined up for distributing/marketing this new CD? Assuming it does end up going Platinum and I'll bet it will, what will the band do then? I don't believe for one second that they're writing new material just to "appease" the new fans...they're doing it because they want to! There's still alot of creative energy left in this band and I'm personally looking forward to this 'edgier' sound on the new record.
I wouldn't exactly consider the WalMart deal they had for Revelation a financial "windfall", either.

No shit, Sherlock.
Unless you've got a crystal ball, what makes what I said any less valid than your own opinion on the subject?

How well do you know this person that sent you the IM?

Hell yes WalMart was a windfall; for this band anyway. I guarantee you they made more money on Revelation than they did with Generations, Arrival and Red13 combined.
As for the new cd going platinum, I guess. Just release it in the Phillipines and you'll get your platinum. It won't sell a million to non Filipinos, no way.
Steve Perry and past and present members of Journey have been courted by Disney and the producers of Tron Legacy to contribute an original theme song for the film. Journey wrote the original song "Only Solutions" for the first Tron movie, although that song wound up in the ending credits.

If Disney forked up enough dough, money might buy some love.
Possibility?
