Heard this today for the first time in years, and forgot how awesome he could sing! What an awesome song. He really channels Michael Bolton in this song towards the end. Just wondering if anyone else here likes it?

Jim, I love ya, man - and you're a hell of a musician. We see eye to eye musically 98% of the time. But, to quote Judge Smails...IMHO...this song "ss...sss...su...su...suuucks!"
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

James Ingram is excellent. I just burned a CD with him, including the song you linked, Luther Vandross and Peabo Bryson. Some of the best vocalists ever. I don't listen to sappy stuff all that often, but every now and then I do, and these guys, in my opinion, are at the top of what they do. Here's a Carpenters cover by Vandross, that I think is great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TynG9irs7w

Next to his 'Somewhere Out There' duet with Linda Ronstadt, probably Ingram's most famous song.
Just a great singer. No over the top ohhs and ahhs, just great singing.

See I'm the opposite, I love the ohhs and ahhs, whoa's, grunts, groans, whatever...........those give it more of an R&B delivery.
