I think I have a new favorite TV show-does anyone else watch it?

I usually can't stand to watch medical shows because they put way too much of a dramatic spin on things-reality shows or otherwise, but this one is pretty good!

I enjoy it as well, but there's a personal reason. My daughter was actually in Boston Children's Hospital early last year for heart surgery, and they were just starting filming. We aren't in any of the episodes, but I can definitely speak first hand about the amazing doctors and nurses that work there.

Funny you should mention this show - I was saying to someone yesterday that I thought it was the best medical drama that I'd seen. I think it is the most realistic one and like every hospital I've worked at. It does show people in the medical profession as I see them - dedicated, passionate about what they do, yet vulnerable to the same personal problems that everyone has. Yet, no over-the-top drama in relationships.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I spoke with one of the nurses last night that took care of my daughter while we were there. She said for the most part everyone she works with thinks the show is doing a great job of balancing and accurately showing things from both the patients / families and the doctors / nurses point of view.

I'm thankful every day that my daughter was able to have her surgery and recovery there.
