Every Rose Has It's Thorn

Hate on me if you wish but I like it. A nice change of pace instead of a straight up cover.

Here is the single version which has a good chance of topping the charts.

People can rip on her all they want for her poor acting on the Hannah show, but she's got a really cool, slightly raspy voice. I like it. Her cover of this song is done well in her own style too. She didn't try to clone it and she didn't go to left field with it either. She made it her own which works well for it.

"It's" should not have an apostrophe.

Not a bad song, but the sound engineer on that first clip should be shot.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Love the song, she does a great job of it but I didn't care for the sound on the second clip. I like her, I've never seen her on Hannah Montana. I like that she has a different voice than most girl singers her age. (Or even older in some cases)

I like some of Miley's work, but I'm not crazy about this song. I just don't buy the emotion of it, unlike the Poison version. I know she worked with Bret on this though, and that's pretty cool.

As for her acting, it's typical Disney Channel fare. She was in a movie but I haven't seen it to judge. She'll be a singer/actor I think.

It's a sitcom aimed at teenagers/pre-teens...it's not supposed to be Oscar-worthy thespianism...

1- She sounds really good. She obviously has talent.

2- Bret has really Bryan Adamsed his voice. It felt like he was going to crack at the next word.

3- I couldn't tell if Brett got upset or not, but she sang over the guitar solo. I don't think she was supposed to.

I think if you sing over a guitar solo, then it ceases to be a solo. So no, I bet she wasn't supposed to.

Bingo. That is what's missing IMO too. My daughter loves this song so I'm sure I hear it blaring from her room at least a couple times a week. She does have a cool voice though, like the rasp...... but I find her very very dead pan on this one. :? Maybe cuz it's Brett's song, but I hear waaaay more emotion in his delivery than hers.

Probably more so that performance, cuz he recently sounded better vocally on Idol. Almost sounded like he wasn't warmed up there. :?

There's a 10-year old girl in my daughter's class that sang "The Climb" in our elementary school talent show, and I swear if I didn't know better I would've bet the farm that she was lipping Miley. It was in-freakin-credible! I bet she could out-Miley Miley!!! 8)

Yep, if I don't hear even a smidge of passion or emotion in vocals, I ain't interested in the slightest. My daughter's got her cd and she does seem to have some great delivery on a song or two......but that definitely isn't one of them. To me she sounds almost monotone, well except for when she busts loose a little there at the end of that performance above.
