Postby S2M » Mon Aug 02, 2010 12:42 pm

Hands down the best SP doppelganger...

Included is an mp3 of 'Loving you is Easy'

I DARE anyone to deny this guy isn't the best...

the best at what? Having a vocal tone that is the closest to Perry? Maybe, but everything I've heard strikes me as him having a very nasal quality to his voice--which I find rather distracting. You hear it a bit on that song, more on others.

That said, I'd be interested in hearing any original material he has done. Be interesting to hear what he sounds like on his own.

I've never heard anyone sing as close to Perry as Kelty. That was a long time ago though, what 18 years? I'd be surprised if he could do that now.

I saw Kelty a couple years ago. He was good on early Perry, but too thin for the later stuff. Gimme Jeremey any day. Good guy though and obviously talented.

Kelty is definately great. If you like Perry from 78-80 (and I do, my favorite), Kelty is really good. I seen him live back in 1995-1996 and they were fun to see.

I think his voice has an incredibly uncanny similarity to Perry's. Even still and especially in this clip. If someone asked me who the tenor was I'd probably say Steve Perry 1980 or 1981. His wife reads here or least she did when all of the hullaballoo was stirred up about JK last time. Perhaps she could post some clips ... if she's a member. What a nice lady, too, as is Jason. "You came all the way from Chicago to see me?!?!"  8)

Would love to hear some clips. If he wants to do Christian music, that's great, just don't hide the talent! :)

Yeah, if Arnie Boy sounded just like Perry everyone would crucify him for "trying to sound like Perry". Hell, he doesn't sound like Perry on a lot of stuff and people crucify him for not sounding like Perry. He can't win. Yet if any of the Journey cover band guys were to do the real gig, all the sudden that's okay? Makes NO sense...

... Oh, just sayin'

and the JK guy sounds as good as the other 3 cover guys
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.
