Jealous much Cheesedick? "Piece of crap?" LOL, the record holder of everything that matters, at the hardest position to play in sports. You're a fucking moron. You NEVER make sense on anything. If you don't like the guy, that's one thing, but to say he is a piece of crap is just retarded. The man brought Green Bay of all places, a world championship. WTF else you want?

and it will be interesting once Brett tells the coach...

Two other things we have heard locally - he and Deanna hired someone to put up Christmas lights at their home in Minnesota, and they enrolled their daughter in a private school here. I wouldn't put it past him to come back at the last minute. Last year, I knew that he was coming back because they reserved a bunch of rooms at a Green Bay hotel the weekend of the Packer-Viking game there, even though he "retired".
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I'm kind of dissapointed not to be able to see him go at it for one more year after his tremendous season last season. Favre will always be one of my fav. all time players, hands down.

LEBRONE is over rated... The heat will realize that... FAVRE brought a championship and came close to two in a row against the Broncos...and that was 12 years ago... he came within one play of getting a 2nd team to a Super Bowl LAST year at age 40... he is not over rated... HE IS HOWEVER, over rated ATTENTION WHORE IN the media since wanting out of GB... but thats secondary to his talents... if he does come back again... then I think the defenses this season will be out to END his career for him... ;-)

I reckon this things going to change back and forth three times before he decides this year.

Such bouncing back and forth is egocentric and neurotic at the same time. But he's damn good a throwing the football.

Favre overrated? This has to be a joke at the highest ignorant degree. People who say Favre being overrated is only taking the whole smoke screen of the legend of his player that he is due to his "offseason retirements."

First off, the dude never really did retire. Unlike Jordan who took time off then came back, Favre actually NEVER missed an NFL season, just was apart of offseason drama. When it comes down to it, he will be remembered for not missing a single football game since 199 fucking 2. I'd like for any of us to go out on a high school football field and try to complete one lousy game at the quarterback position. This dude did it at the highest level possible, marking it at 284 straight games. That's inhuman.

That's 20 damn years playing at the highest pedestal of positions of all of sports. He has been the THRESH HOLD of each team he's ever played for no matter what the year read, whether it be for GB, N.Y or MINNY. At 40 years old, he never lost that sense of relevancy and never faded into the back of the pack because of a dwindling career of age. Instead, he remained the NFL's best QB's in the game year in and year out.

He holds all records because of it. He went to two straight Super Bowls in 1996 and 1997, winning in 1996 with Green Bay. He RECENTLY took Green Bay to an NFC championship game, one throw away from the SB and LAST YEAR took a Minnesota team to the NFC Championship as well, one throw away from the SB.

An overrated player just doesn't bring that dynamic to a football team, let alone the countless number of records he has made for himself the past 20 years. Get the off season drama over the past years out of your minds and realize this game is played on the field and should be measured that way. Brett Favre was one of the most magical QB's I've ever watched. If his retirement is true and for good, this would forever leave a void in the NFL that they would never be able to replace when it came to the certain player Favre portrayed. To me, when measured in toughness and longevity, it's Brett Favre and everyone else.

He's not retiring. Quite the opposite, actually. He's trying to corner the Vikings into reworking his deal with more money and another year. Look for him to report to camp on, or about, August 23rd ... with a brand new multi-year deal. :)

I wouldn't doubt it anymore really. As soon as he steps on the field during the first game this season, he automatically is guaranteed 13 mil. How much more money could he possibly want/need? :? Rumor has it already that Minny has already contacted him about giving him more time and throwing him even MORE money on top of the 13 million he would receive this season. Crazy.

13 million? Jesus Christ, considering the 5th starter on a crappy NBA team makes seemingly more than that for doing nothing. This is Brett Fucking Favre. He has won championships, and has proven he can damned near get one now at the age of 40. Pay him what he wants and get on the field.

They're smart and so is he. Take him away and you can subtract about 4-5 wins.

Agreed with that, but at this stage I don't really think the amount of money can buy a severely damaged left ankle. We'll see. I don't think he's done either, but this is backwards from the previous years and just seems as a strong rumor than anything else. We haven't heard a word from him yet so I'm sure both sides are talking as we speak of coming up with some kind of compromise, or ordering a behind the scenes retirement press conference. If he was going to retire, I believe by now Favre would have made his statement so that window of him changing his mind is still a strong possibility from now to even the first pre-season game or possibly week 1. This could drag AGAIN.

Had Adrian Peterson been able to hold on to the football, Favre wouldn't have taken nearly the beating he did at the end of last year, and especially in the Saints game. If you can get an inspired and hold-on-to-the-ball conscious Peterson in camp (and beyond), you're probably looking at a 12-14 win team. Those quick hitters favre assassinated teams with are easy on the ankle, limit hits and keep him sharp. Peterson will do his thing and they'll throw in the occasional deep ball to keep teams honest. This is all a charade. He'll be under center for the Vikings this year.

More and more as the year went on, it became sorely Favre's team. He literally did carry the team on his back. Peterson's fumbles is a definite problem and is a shame he puts the team in a non-trust issue with him putting the ball on the ground. I fucking LOVE their 2nd round draft choice, Toby Gerhardt. Dude is an absolute wrecking ball and destroys between the tackles. Gerhardt should also take pressure off, esp in situation short yardage football so I think it could work only if Favre can still keep the defense honest on a bad ankle for them not to call his bluff and stack 9 guys in the box every game.

Exactly. When they talk sports I'm like "huh?" I could care less if some athlete retires - I've never even heard of him. They'll just have to get someone else to play ball.

I really don't get sports. Once you've seen someone throw, catch, or kick a ball once, you've seen it a thousand times. It's way too repetitive and predictable to entertain me.
