This is exciting. I can't wait for these to come out. It's fantastic that Smitty is included. I love Marco and Neal must really respect him, since he's been playing with Neal on SoulSirkUS and the NSB. :D :D

This is worth responding too -- Wow. Smitty and Neal together again. Call me first in line for purchase! So much amazing chemistry between them. Looking forward to this. Way to go Neal!

Neal's back with Mendoza and Smitty this year, and had Rolie as a guest singer last year. Just more evidence who the bad apple(s) in the band was/were.

Reminds me of my buddy's old saying when we were about 17. He had a thing for younger girls. "If the field's lacking grass ... throw it in her ass."

I hope it comes out before Christmas - I don't want to wait that long! Awesome news that Neal is in the studio working on solo material and I'm excited that both Steve Smith and Deen are working with him. Deen has a great voice too, so if a few of the songs require vocals, I would love to hear Deen singing on the album!

This is great news on so many levels. As with many others, I am so glad to read that Neal will be back in the studio with Smitty. He was always a great drummer, but as you know, since he left Journey, his expansion and mastery of so many styles of play is mind blowing. When Neil Peart makes note that Smitty's playing has reached another level (and therefore prompted him to ask Smitty with whom he studied (Freddy Gruber)), even us non-drummers take note. Steve still writes personal e-mails to his fans, which I really appreciate -- he makes it easy to be a huge fan. I can't wait to hear what they come up with.

And to see Neal hook up with Marco again is also great news. Marco is another extremely accessible musician who plays a wicked bass, and who brings to much to the table.

Dean's a given with his drumming and vocals -- no need to comment.

Can't wait for all of this to come out.

And let's open a Pandora's Box (was it ever closed?). If there is ever a time Perry and Neal could write and play together again, this seems to be the perfect time -- whether song writing credits, some vocals, or otherwise. But even after I wake up, it won't matter: Neal, Smitty, Dean, and Marco -- some serious music is to be had in the coming months (between this and Black Country Communion, going to be a heck of a rockin' year).

Posted in another thread that it'd be good to see Smitty on a NS solo record. I guess, wishes do come true. Love to be a fly on the wall. I'm sure Neal will play some new Journey for SS, or at least make comment on it. And with current similar directions, ie, the middle eastern vibe, I'm sure ideas will be exchanged.

This could open the door for a lot of other possibilities. Who knows. A Schon-Smith colaboration could have been in the works for some time now, and this solo deal is just way to get Smitty back involved in Journey. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Steve Smith in the credits or liner notes of the new Journey record. Very interesting.

Is this the first time since TBF that SS has played with Neal? Neal, please take some pics or vid of what you all are doing in there and post them on Facebook, okay? Thanks in advance, lol. (Wouldn't you love to see some of what's going on *sigh.*)

Anyhoo, I'm totally excited about the boxed set. I saw where he is asking the fans to give him some ideas about the name for it; how about: Neal Schon Rocks, Neal Schon's Stone Uncracked; Neal Schon's State of Grace (I got that from an art show on Bravo). This is not easy, lol.
