No, no. You have to use Hollywood PR math. She's only about 5'3 or 5'4. And add 30lbs to the weight.
Just like dudes always add 3" to their height (and length for that matter), with Hollywood facts you have to do subliminal math.

Most of it was in her bra anyway.

In Hollywood you have to be a 00 or you're chubby ...oh but then they take pictures of their bones and make stories of how they are starving themselves to death  I will never get it.

It isn't, she needed to put some weight on, but she went from a double zero to a size six. That's a pretty large jump and fuel for the tabloids ...sadly, she's not the only one. It's unfortunate the price they pay ...it would have been much less noticeable on a girl of 5'7", though!!!!

she says in that article she only gained 10lbs. And that she was never a 0 and never will be. She said she always fluctuated a 4 or 6 because of her curves. She only worked out and got thin for the dukes of hazard I believe. That was not her typical size. She worked out just to fit in her daisy dukes ;)

What are you talking about?? The problem with Jessica is that she had next to zero redeeming attributes when it came to music talent - her only salt in anything was her hotness....now don't get me wrong, I like a girl with a little meat on her bones, but she definitely saw a 15% increase in her overall body mass in a relatively short period of time (under a year)....that doesn't go unnoticed in this day and age, esp in the limelight.....Shame she doesn't smoke like a chimney and drink 'Tab' like water (see also: Jen Annistory and Courtney Cox?)...at least John said she was sexual napalm...whatever the ____ that means...(Thank you Captain Douche Bag)

So a woman wearing a size 6 takes away her sex appeal? Let's say she lied, and she went all the way to a size 8, I still think it's ridiculous the expectations the media, Hollywood, and obviously reading this post, MEN put on girls. My 14 year old daughter has gone from a size zero to a size 3 or 5 this year. I NEVER wore such a tiny size at that age. I expect her to grow more and go up at least another size or two because that is NORMAL. she is SO thin at 5'3" in her size 5 super skinny jeans, that I am having a hard time understanding how that ever became heavy in this effed up world. I just hope my daughter doesn't buy into that crap because I worry about her and the images and pressure she'll feel to look perfect. I never worried about that stuff when I was her age. And she does. But you should hear the crap other girls say to her. Criticizing parts of her body. It's really SAD.

Jesus Christ, Lynn. It's not what the media thinks is pretty, it's what really looks good. Being chubby doesn't look good, no matter who you are. I'm happy the media pressure or whatever you want to call it can help people stay thin.

You are SO clueless! My daughter is 5'3" and wears a size 3 or 5.... THAT is chubby in the media.... she is THIN!! My daughter has a beautiful shape. A shape I never had and always wished I did. And the pressure is just ridiculous. The expectation of a zero is SICK. JUST as sick as you are saying morbid obesity is. There are extreme on both ends. You really have a warped view on what chubby is if you think that girls should be striving to be a 0.

With all due respect ladies, Brandon here said it better than I ever could. Her hotness and svelte figure were the things she made millions off of. She's packin 'em on now. Celebs build their image on being hot and skinny these days, for better or worse. Can't have it both ways. A lot of them bring nothing else to the table other than looks, and it goes for both sexes. Pray tell, why has Val Kilmer been reduced from epics like Heat to embarrassing B-movie romps?

I've dated both skinny girls and girls with more meat on their bones. In fact, I'm kinda dating one from the latter category now. Truthfully, I prefer the latter category anyway - I'm an athlete and active person, I like girls with something to them. The fact of the matter is, you're in the public eye for being hot and thin, your weight gain will not go unnoticed, fair or not.

You obviously don't understand what Im saying either Matthew. size 3, size 5 or even freaking size 7 is NOT chubby or fat OR even freaking unsexy! But the media has deemed it not sexy, so now boys like you grow up thinking that size 0 IS sexy. Did you ever stop to think what those girls go through to be a size zero? Do they even freaking eat? I can imagine it must be really fun hanging out with a girl that barely eats  And is constantly worried about perfection and obsessesd with having that perfect body. People should be happy with who they are no matter what their size. I am not even talking REAL plus sizes here. I am talking TINY sizes!! My daughter is TINY and her pant size is considered fat under these terms!! And more than half the time, the freaking pictures are doctored and photoshopped so you aren't getting a real vision of them anyway. To me there is nothing sexy about a girl who is starving herself to get into that size zero. Any more than I give two craps if a guy has a six pack and huge biceps. Actually, that is a turn off for me. You can have an athletic healthy looking guy be way hotter than some guy who looks like he's pumped up on steroids. Its gross. And that's what us ladies get to see for our male ads. Not a turn on, sorry.

Here, this is one of her fat pics. This was the actual performance that started ALL the buzz about her. To ME, it was really really poor clothing choice! NO ONE!! I MEAN NO ONE looks good in high waisted jeans!! That's why all of us women thanked God when they came out with lower waisted pants!! Even skinny girls looked fat in them in the 80's and why she picked such UGLY pants to wear that day I'll never know   But THIS is not chubby. I will never get it. And you may find pics of her looking heavier, but you can find photos of me looking heavier in one than the other. Because sometimes it's just an outfit, camera angle, or my pose. It's easy for the media to portray things any way they want :P

Maybe they can have her sister Ashley on to show how NOT to use a vocal backing track on live TV.

Jessica Simpson... WHY?
JLO... WHY?
Tyler.... TYLER?!?!?!? What the heck?
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Parfait is wrong... there are actually lots of guys who prefer the non-skinny physique, and I don't know a single guy who likes the starved type. I'm more concerned about what's healthy than what anyone else defines as "looking good". There was a time (and it could still be this way, I don't keep up with it) when if you didn't have the Kate Moss heroin addict look, you didn't have much chance as a model. That's why so many took drugs and starved themselves to get there, and there's still some degree of that kind of thinking in the modeling and acting world today. There was NOTHING healthy about that look -- it was actually dangerous. There's also nothing healthy (or attractive to me) about morbid obesity, which some say is at least 100lbs. over their ideal body weight. So if you would be ideal and healthy at 125lbs, it ain't good to be 225, ya know? If this same girl is 140 or 160 even, she may be chubby but not pushing a heart attack. Who cares at that point what anyone thinks about how she looks, as long as that person is happy with themselves?

I tell ya, beyond all that I'm even MUCH more concerned about psychological and emotional health than physical health. It has to come first. When it comes down to it, no one who presses someone to look a certain way or would shun them if you didn't gives 1/25 of a s*** about them, so why worry about them? People who live their lives solely based on what other people think are miserably unhappy, no matter how much material success they achieve. That's why pop-culture has a net destructive influence on the people who get too wrapped up in it or mistake it for real life instead of the cartoon comic strip representation that it is. They should concentrate on their own identity, be themselves and do what makes you happy. I've had to do that for myself on many levels in the past several years, and it's a constant journey.

I should launch my own line of t-shirts to capitalize on this topic. If we can't stop people from destryoing themselves, might as well make a little profit from it. :)

How about some T's that say, "BOOBS, not BONES"?

By the way, just heard this morning that J-Lo is OUT as a judge. They say her demands were getting increasingly out of hand (no surprise, she's always been that way). Not sure about Steven Tyler anymore either. Mariah Carey is supposedly very interested, but if they don't want to go thru another Paula drama, they should stay away from these types of divas and find someone a little more grounded.

What the woman made magazines says about + size models being more beautiful or whatever; is generally false. A woman's body should look well trained and curvy - looks aesthetically better than being chubby. And not to mention the fact that most women needs to hang up their panties to dry as soon as they see a decent six pack, but starts to bitch and cry when men "objectify" women. It's good that staying in shape is starting to become a trend. Give me a fucking break; you doesn't have to take drugs or whatever to stay in shape and having a great body. The only thing you'll need is some dedication and willpower.

Models by the way stays so thin (and I'm not denying that some go too far) because the clothes look better on them than on a chunky, burrito eating lady. :)

You know, the girl got to like 130lbs at what, 5'7" ? And wore a freaking size 6 Jean, and THAT'S what the media considered chubby

Lynn, you're making this into a whole other issue. The point is these clowns are making millions to look good. That's it. No more, no less. They are thus fair game to be critiqued when they pack 'em on.

I am fully aware of body image problems that women (and some men) tend to have - my aunt is an anorexic going on 30 years who now has scledara (sp?) some kind of auto-immune disorder which is likely to spread to her organs. She's 50 with 2 kids, 18 and 16, and she'll be lucky to make it to 55.

I didn't "grow up" thinking anything as a result of media - I like what I like, and no media will change that. I like a girl who is confident in her appearance, whether she is built rail-thin, athletic, curvy, whatever. And yes, it is definitely NO fun to hang out with a girl who doesn't eat - I love to eat. That's why I'm kinda seein this girl that is an incredible cook ;) . For myself personally, as long as I feel good, I'm good with that. I don't make some inflated, roided out dude my personal body image goal because I'm level-headed. People who are that easily influenced have other deeper, psychological issues (e.g., my aunt with anorexia has serious OCD and a penchant for being in control of things).

Once again, just for emphasis, if you want to live by the sword (being a talentless hack making money acting/singing only because you look good), then you die by the sword - being critiqued for letting your appearance radically change one way or the other. All is fair in love and celebrity warfare.

This seems to be the PC way of okaying America's Weight Problem. The same way Americans seem to excuse everything... (It's not our fault!)

However, the fact of the matter is:

If ya ain't gots da curves, ya ain't got nuttin.

There's curvey and there's fat and outta shape. There's a difference.

Plus, if there's no sense of humor, it don't matter what you look like.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

back on topic... having her there will not bring star power to idol... tyler would be great fun to watch, but I see an idol train wreck if Tyler or Simpson are judges...

First of all I don't have a problem with women being objectified. Where did I ever mention that? Beauty has always been something that has been appreciated for centuries.

My point is, did you SEE what was considered a plus sized model??? A girl can wear a size 8 and be a PLUS size model. THAT is my problem with what you are saying. And actually, Matthew set me off on this tangent by asking the question if she was still "chubby"!! Like that would be a reason it would work, only if she looks hot. AND she was HARDLY chubby! Chubby to me is fat rolls, or some kind of flabby thing going on. Those pics that people went nuts over were a horrible wardrobe choice on a girl who gained maybe 10 lbs. She lost a lot of weight for the Dukes of Hazard movie, and that was probably her thinnest Ive seen her. Many women would have to work hard to an extreme to get that thin. And she is one of them obviously. Her "chubby" weight is still THIN. If SHE is chubby in those jeans, then I am morbidly obese! And the JEANS are what is ugly in that pic! And her shirt!!! Where is the support for her naturally HUGE boobs?? That was the worse wardrobe choice I have EVER seen!!!

And read what I posted above. My panties have NEVER gotten wet over seeing a six pack. I don't like the steroid look in a guy. I never have. What I find attractive has nothing to do with muscles or anything. Personality, humor, eyes, smiles, laughs... those are the things that matter to me. When I see a pic of a male model, I really don't feel anything. I am picky about what i find attractive in hollywood too. I usually like the guy who is just mildly atheletic looking, not the big huge guy who looks like he could get in a boxing ring. If he has a cute face and a great smile, that is usally a turn on for me. In real life, none of those things even matter to me. In real life it's the other things I mentioned above. It takes a lot of things combined for a person to be hot to me. But I know men are wired differently :P

And to be a grown woman, and be a size 0, you most certainly can NOT attain that by being fit and eating right and being normal. Unless you have an extremely high metabolism or you are tall, there is just no way. There has to be extremes to get there. Im sure MANY models are using drugs, over exercising (yes, there is such a thing), anorexia and bolemia to keep that look. And the pics we see in magazines are SO doctored it's not even funny. You have a really warped view of the world and reality. Your world sounds very plastic to me. Believe what you want about americans, but Id rather live in this real world than some plastic fake world with such unrealistic expectations

WHY Jessica Simpson? Her career IN SINGING has been pretty small, hasn't it? I think I've heard maybe one of her songs...
put somebody in that can actually sing well and knows what the deal.

Same with Pdiddy. The guy's NOT a singer.
Perry would be excellent on there. It would also keep him in the spotlight for when he finally releases something new. Why the guy doesn't jump on it is beyond me.

Justin Timberlake would be great. Dude's funny as hell. His SNL episodes are always so good.

Justin Timberlake would be a great choice! I swear, he is better as a comedic actor than anything Ive seen him sing  SNL and movies included. Who knows! Maybe they ask some of these people and they turn it down. I imagine that Justin stays pretty busy with his music producing and all the other things he has his hand in. Maybe he realizes it's best not to join a show when it could be on the way down?

So uh... Chubby people aren't really chubby? It's the society's fault, right? Sistah puh-lease.

Yack all you want about me living in a plastic world or whatever, just because I prefer a woman with a fit body. Working out and looking good, living a healthy lifestyle, isn't something one should be ashamed of or branded as a air headed roid monkey with no real taste for food. I mean, that's all bullshit. My world (guess we don't live in the same one) isn't warped - I see things as it. Being just slightly overweight can cost the health care industry billions of dollars, as the risks for heart diseases and etc rises exponentially with the aforementioned higher weight.

Being well trained, with a low fat percentage, looks better, feels better and performs better. Simple stuff! :)
