I wouldn't invest any money in computer speakers, unless you have a high end audio card in your pc. It would be a waste of money.

Squirt1 I have the Companion 2 Series II Multimedia Speaker System and they are great. I bought them last year at Tiger direct. Worth the investment

Those are $89 at Tiger Direct. Which is a great place to buy computer components. Not a bad buy at all Robbie. If you're using the onboard sound with your pc, you bought a bit more than you needed, but if you have a higher end audio card, you'll get your moneys worth. I'll bet you have the onboard audio though. Just a guess on my part.

Those are $89 at Tiger Direct. Which is a great place to buy computer components. Not a bad buy at all Robbie. You guess correctly. I buy the majority of my computer components from Tiger Direct. Always have great service from them so far.

I have Bose Companion 2 series computer speakers, and they RAWK! They were $69/pair a year ago at Sam's Club. I liked them so well that I went back and bought two more pair for the other computers in the house.

I've built probably 20 computers for myself and friends from Tiger Direct and Newegg. Both great sites. That being said, it's absolutely pointless to buy high end speakers with onboard audio. It's very mediocre hardware, at best. You will not realize a high end speakers capacity with it. I'm not arguing with you just to argue, which I like doing, but it's just a fact.

I'm running Companion 3's here. Had them for about a year.
They have a sub and rock pretty well. My factory sound software on my Dell 17" laptop came with a graphic equalizer.

I think the Bose computer speakers have onboard processing called "TrueSpace Stereo Signal Processing Circuitry". They sound a lot better than most of the higher quality computer speakers out there. While they may not sound as good as the Klipsch tower speakers in my living room, they RAWK for computer speakers.

A friend of mine has a Bose setup, but he uses his PC for alot of recording and guitar work. I personally use a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card along with Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 speakers. I personally think they are the best bang for the buck for PC speakers. Unless you have a good sound card or good onboard 5.1 or better audio, don't bother. You need the good soundcard to make the speakers work to their full potential.

Check online before going to a store to look for speakers. In fact, LOOK and LISTEN at the store and then go online to find MUCH better prices. I snagged my speakers up for $200 shipped on ebay and they were brand new. At the store (Best Buy) they wanted $399
