Funny enough I'm just packing for Sturgis right now. I'll be covering all concerts at the Buffalo Chip this year, but I'll miss Dokken, sadly.

Make sure your table is close to an exit door, and stay clear of the flashpots!

Just curious to see how Great White were? I saw them tonight, and they had a different singer. Supposibly Jack was sick? He had a really good voice, but you could tell that he wasn't super familiar with the words. He kept watching Michael Lardie (the keyboard player) for a lot of his cues and words.

Yes, that was totally him. Thank you for the information! He did have a great voice! I honestly wasn't sure what to think of the show. It was weird without Jack, but at least he was on. They were good, but hopefully Jack is feeling better & will get his shit together soon. I have seen some of those really bad videos from last year.

Jack apparently has some problems, and I'm wondering if substance abuse isn't one of them. They are playing about 3 hours away this Wed, and I'll be damned if I'll travel that far to see them without Jack on vox. Really planned on it but doubt I'll take the risk on a Wed. night.

They were really good.....Once Jack got warmed up....it was an older voice, but was still the same. He sat down alot and came onstage with a cane. i was so close that i could see his baby blues...and they were still baby blue. Didn't stay for Dokken, (Sorry Rip) they went on late and it got later and later and we all had to work the next morning ....

I'm not making any excuses for him, but I will say that what this band has gone through could push ANYONE into substance abuse! To me, if I were in this band... I don't know if I could live with myself everyday knowing how many people were killed or scarred horribly from that night. Talk about a burden to carry. I hope he gets help.

Thank you MrsPerry for the review :) They have always put on a solid show, but I was really a bit nervous seeing them after viewing some really badly intoxicated videos from last year. I have my ticket, I guess I will keep it handy in case they do get to reschedule.

No shit, they have always been known for their partying ways, so it is completely not shocking for Jack to be so bad. He seemed to be in a different place (with that pretty bad sappy solo album out) right before that fire. The entire thing was such a tragedy. Who wouldn't want to be numb to escape the memories and pain?

Read up on Jack today and found he has some sort of brittle bones condition, and broke 18 freakin' bones in a year not long ago. Had to have two back surgeries and shattered his pelvis as well. Dude shouldn't even be out on the road.

That totally sucks. I guess Andrew was telling the truth about him not being able to stand. He should have been drinking more milk, and less whiskey  Life has a way of kicking your ass sometimes.

Here's that reference:

http://www.mywesttexas.com/entertainmen ... c3e30.html

Last year was difficult for Russell, who suffered multiple broken bones, beginning with a fall off a 5-gallon paint can.

“A year ago I was in my bathroom working on my new house, and smart singer that I am instead of walking 10 feet and grabbing a ladder, I opened a closet and grabbed a 5-gallon paint drum. I decided to risk my luck on this empty paint can. It was only a touch up. The next thing I know I’m on my ass. My hip’s killing me.

“(A month later) I went to make the repair again. This time I grabbed the ladder, but I was all wobbly and could barely stand up because of the pain. I fall down, hit my back square on the edge of tub surround and break two vertebra. The ambulance had to come. They told me you have two fractured vertebra and a shattered pelvis in two places.

“That was the beginning. I go on the road and fall down. I couldn’t barely stand up. I have a condition that takes all the nutrients out of your bones, makes them real brittle. By the end of the tour I had 18 broken bones total.”
