I wonder where they get this info from. Watch any episode of COPS and it proves otherwise.

I would have, but it's too late. The alcohol is already gone!  It was just me and a bottle of wine... all gone now.

I think I'll break out a few glasses of some white zinfandel before bed to make sure the old ticker keeps ticking.

Damn Joe... tell us how you really feel!  And for the record, I don't drink and drive. I do it from the comfort and safety of my house. If I drink at a bar or restaurant, my wife is the DD. Does that make me an asshole?

If I had to live with a nightly HEAVY drinker and look at him all thick-tongued, red-faced, sloshed every night, the depression would kill me. No wonder I would die first. LOL

I used to come home and have a beer most days but I'm on this migraine medicine now and one of the side effects (I've only experienced two thankfully) is "altered taste". Read: Fizzy drinks taste flat. So no more beer for me. THAT SUCKS!!!! But no more migraines. WTF????

YEP! My doctor said people call it Dopamax. It makes me a little sluggish too and I'm only up to two a day. I don't drink many cokes and none of course now but I enjoyed a beer or two. Oh well. I guess a glass of homemade wine could do too.

I don't feel sluggish but I do say stupid thing sometimes.

Let me rephrase that...I say stupid things more often with the meds than without.  I frequently say the wrong word-I use a word that sounds similar but isnt't the right word-or I would switch the first sound of two words. I must admit, it is entertaining at times.

I have a friend that rarely gets sick, but drinks like a damn fish most of the time. I have just figured that her shit was just pickled, or anything normal that would get to her like a bacteria must get killed off with all the alcohol. I am sure when it catches up to her it won't be good, but for now what she has left in her immune system has to be on red alert all of the time?

This is old news, actually. It's been said for years that a glass of red wine every day is healthy. But, it's not necessarily the alcohol that does it...you can get similar results from drinking grape juice. It's the tannins and anti-oxidants in the grape that does it. I'd like to see the study done again but include a group that are non-drinkers but have a glass of grape juice every day.

You're probably onto something there. Grape juice just doesn't have the social appeal however...
