There is very few that can deliver a song like that without it coming across as forced or phoney. Motown influenced vocalists seem to have a great knack for that more natural emotive delivery.

Love the song Forever In Blue, will have to listen to the link after work. Agree with Vlad too, absolutely love It Could Have Been You, would be interesting to hear Jeremey's take on that one.

and it should have been Jeremey.......

The phrasing is a bit too much in some places, but it was great anyhow. Do you have Perry's voice? Of course not. But you come pretty damn close. :)

WOW. I think this one is one where you sound the most like SP.
Cool.

I hate you.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

No....maybe because he is the one who could have actually done it...without the diction problems, and the karaoke concerts that have gone one while the band is on hiatus.

but it seems that Neal had other plans, Jeremey is probably much better off without the job.

Hey shit head, do you have any idea what the concerts are for during the hiatus?

Dont click  http://arnelpinedafoundation.homestead.com/

karaoke? His shows outsold Neal's in the USA and Canada. People believe in his purpose. While you may not agree with him
being in the band, what he is doing for humanity is beyond reproach. The cheap shots are a bit much. He doesn't deserve them,
at least when he's not performing with the band.

I just love it when you call me sweet names

I think AP is a wonderful guy who is doing great things for his charity....I do however find it interesting that at these concerts
that are for such a great cause the lead singer of Journey can't sing Journey.....and that is in no way his fault at all.

My point was that the performance that Jeremey posted makes me think that HE was the one who could DO the JOB and not have the shit slung at him....but then again IMO anyone who has this job is pretty much CRAZY!

A PORTION of the ticket sales went to his charity, Rachel and the AMMO band weren't working for free you know.
My own opinion on the matter is that with all the down time, Pineda should have knocked out a solo song or an EP for his charity. The band's not going to care if he does it and it's something he can actually hang his hat on instead of relying on the hit songs of other artists to provide funds for his own personal causes.

There seems to be an unspoken sentiment that the guy deserves a break from criticism because he's such a "wonderful human being". Well, according to all reports, so is Augeri and that never stopped people from shitting all over him.
A lot of bands do charitable appearances, hell Foreigner has been averaging about one a week lately. Does that mean they're better artists because of it? Roger Waters lives and breathes for charitable causes, does everyone think that makes him the most kind person since Christ?

Beyond those points which have nothing to do with this thread anyway, If Arnel is done playing in his Bon Jovi tribute band for the summer, here's hoping he finds time to get back to work on his diction issues, lord knows he's had over a year to get prepped on it.

Jeremey, did you ever take a stab at any of Giuffira's material, seeing how David Glen Eisley and you have a similar sound, vocally?

Babble much?

On another note: TBF might be way too moody, but Perry's vocals on it have really grown on me. Trial by Fire is a great, understated song. Not to mention it's Smith's best work with Journey.

Every time I see this song title, it reminds me of this song....which I think is a MUCH better song.

Too bad you won't cover it....bet Arnel has tho. ;)

I'm sure some Filipino, if not Arnel has covered it before. They love to try and emulate John Farnham down there.

I think it's a requirement for every aspiring singer to attempt You're the Voice. Never heard any that come close.
I haven't heard Arnel do this, but he has done Please Don't Ask Me, which--if memory serves--was a LRB song released by Farnham as a solo artist.

Glenn Wheatley, who was managing LRB, became Farnham's manager and brought in Graeham Goble to help John plot his return to pop music at that time. Graham wrote PDAM for John which became a Top 50 hit and also helped produced the arrangement for the Beatles song Help, a which was completely reworked into a ballad.

When Farnham began his tour with LRB, Please Don't Ask Me was used as a conduit for the Australian audiences to identify with the new singer of the group and still have an LRB connection since Goble was the writer of the tune.
