Jeremey Sings "Never Walk Away"

Postby Jeremey » Mon Sep 20, 2010 5:30 am

So last night we debuted our new "Be Good To Yourself/Never Walk Away" medley and got a pretty high quality board recording of the show. For anyone that wonders what the song would sound like with me since I had a part in it's creation, I've uploaded a clip here!

Keep in mind it's our first time playing the tune.....NWA kicks in at about :48 in...'

Nicely done man. Your version is better than what was released. Where is that original "boot" version with Journey?

I like the different inflections. It'd be really cool to hear a studio version of this someday.

TNC,

It was available for a period of time, I just can't remember where. It may have been on Jeremey's site, I just can't remember. It was good though, better than what was released IMO. If anyone has it, will you please PM me or TNC? I'd like to have it too.

Thanks,

Aaron

Yea, I heard that. It was even briefly on YouTube. From what I recall, the song was still in rough draft form. Sounded like J was improvising lyric ideas as he sang. I'm talking about a polished cover of the tune.

I agree. I like Jeremey's take on that song. It's a great song, and everyone knows I love Arnel, but the way he does the Never Walk Awaaaaeeeaaaaeeeeaaaay part cheeses it up. Had they recorded it the way Jeremey sings it, it would have been a much stronger track.

IMHO...it's a Perry tune....he is hard to beat on this one.

The YouTube is fast as hell...but it's his song.. he still owns it....I think the lyrics made it so personal for

him...he put it all out there...so it's hard for anyone else to sing it.

Thanks you guys!

The JRNY demo was a writing demo with a slightly different structure that I posted on ReverbNation for a bit to show people how the song kind of evolved...apparently someone spliced it with the Revelation released mix and put it on YouTube which became a giant pit of Jeremey hating Arnel fans, so I had the video pulled and put away that demo for good, LOL.

Was nice to see lots of people singing along with that on Saturday.

I have to say that the old Frontiers setlist the included the Stone in Love/Escape collaboration was pretty tight. I wish they still included it!
