Yeah, it was cool. I was surprised. But it does have a good cast: Alex O'Loughlin (who was on one season of The Shield), Scott Caan (son of the great James, duh), Daniel Dae Kim, and (drum roll) GRACE PARK!!! Of, you know, BSG fame.

Very well-done pilot episode. I like that the intro & theme music are faithful to the original, too.

Alex O'Loughlin alone makes it worth watching  (but I agree, the show itself was pretty good)

:?

Am I the only person (who saw it) that didn't like it? I was a fan of the original show, and I had been watching the re-runs on cable TV leading up to the premier of the new show. I dunno, I just thought they tried to get a little too "cute" with the whole thing. I just didn't get it. Is McGarrett supposed to be the straight man to Dano's comedy? I didn't like the contentious relationship between the two. In the original, McGarret was all business. He was in charge, and there was no challenging that from subordinates. Dano knew his role and stayed in his lane. Now they're bickering and and fighting?? WTF?!? I just thought it was childish and immature.

...and another thing. Hawaii 5-0, and no Hawaiians? Well, it's good to know somethings never change...

this Hawaii 5-0 is more FUN... than sserious... the original series was serious... this was intense but had some fun moments... its
just the way TV has changed in 40 years... all the old cop shows used to take themselfs way to serious...and they could, becuase the attention span was was longer bak in the day... but todays audiences like more action packed--cute--quick humor, etc... instead of seirous...serious, serious all the time... if that makes any sense...

I get what you're saying. I just don't like it. I didn't think it was cute, quick, or humorous. Gawd, I'm getting grumpy in my old age.

Dear, God! Please. NOOOO. Rick, I beseech you, please delete THAT post, and let us never speak of it again. I don't even want to think about what Hollywood would do to that show.

Somebody pass the brain bleach. :(

When I was a little girl about 5 or 6 my neighbors son and I would play Hawaii 5-0. He kept telling me I had to be Peggy the secretary I said no...........she had no fun!

My husband was nicknamed Dano when we were at college. 20+ years later we got married. Please tell me this does not make me Peggy for life!

Darn that little neighbor boy. The horse didn't kick him hard enough I suppose. LOL!
