They are having fun, interacting with the crowd more and more, especially Alex with the up close fans. Geddy's voice was in top form, everytime he hit those high notes with clarity and strength the crowd roared back in appreciation.
Alex's guitar sound was thick and heavy while still clear to hear the highs well. Geddy's bass had some serious beef on it and to me resembled the sounds of the Rick back in the 70's. Neil's kit was drop dead gorgeous and sounded very punchy. While Neil's playing was spot on as usual, I was underwhelmed by his drum solo. He seems to be going less technical and more taseful, which is fine for a man pushing 60, but it just didn't blow me away like other tours.
The 3 videos, intro, post halftime and at the end of the show (wait for it don't leave!) are extremely well done and very funny. It's good to see Neil acting more in these vids. Man...he seems to be so much more happier now days, and he has every reason to be considering what he's gone through.
By far the best rock concert I've ever seen. From the musicianship to the showmanship, these boys are easily at the top of their game and are more popular than ever. For long term fans this is just amazing to witness happen. Who would have thought 30 years ago, a band for the most part, no one else really "got" or cared about, would go on to have the success they have and now finally get the public respect and popularity they truly deserve. It's a fun time to be a Rush fan....but we knew all this 30 years ago.
