I'm writing based on the band Journey and their history - not necessarily comments about the contents within. About the band's history in a nutshell as an intro to the book.
No offense, but I bet you screw up again and piss them off.

Dude...get a grip.
1) How could I possibly screw up via an intro to a book?
2) Who cares! They don't talk to me anyway!
3) Management already hate me cause I told them they were arrogant asses.

If I remember correctly, it was pretty much how 'uncool' he thought the band was at any time in their history and it kind of came across as "I was whoring myself out to make some money and get some notoriety". Strangely enough, that was also Tommy Shaw's feeling in the beginning of his days with Styx. It wasn't all bad, but it was pretty obvious that he has a bit of contempt for the band and sees his contributions to Styx as a non-event, which is too bad as he had some great moments with that band.

I just read it. I didn't take it as a slam on the band really. He was saying how uncool and unhip they were through the eyes of music critics and other asshole reviewers like Andrew! He even jokes at the end that hopefully the author makes him look cool in the book.
Even in Perry's prime Journey was looked down upon by the same critics..."corporate rock" complaints and all that crap.

But if you read the entire book, you get the vibe that he really doesn't like them
