I saw his interview on the View and it all sounded so depressing. All he talks about is his depression and such. I'm sure there's more to his book, but that's all I've seen in interviews. I'm much more looking forward to Keith Richards' book. That sounds beyond interesting. He really doesn't hold back on Mick. He said he wanted to tell a completely honest account of his life with the Rolling Stones, and it looks like he did from the excerpts I've read.

I know what you mean, although I can't stand Joy Behar, I did watch her interview with Rick. All she wanted to talk about was his suicide attempt and how much he cheated on his wife. I think he would have discussed other things, but the interviewers just want to talk about the more sensational topics from the book. He does look great for 61 however. :D

Depression is....depressing. The book is an absolute revelation. Very brave.

You know, as good a songwriter and player as Springfield is, I absolutely can't stand to hear/see him live.
He plays great. He sings great. But his personality just seems like a guy who's always saying "Why don't you love me?". It's like he tries a bit too hard and sometimes oversteps the humble barrier and sounds pretty arrogant. Make no mistake, I'm a BIG fan of his music, his albums. But man, just live, I think he comes across as very stuck on himself.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Dude comes off as a big ol pussy.

By the way, is it just me, or did others here confuse Rick Springfield with Bruce Springsteen in the early years? I remember fans telling Bruce to play Jesse's Girl or some shit like that.

Wait a second, I'm just listening to an excerpt now... this dude is on the other side of 60 and he's still whining about hitting puberty? Good lord.

Is that the Journey catalog Ross is reading in your avatar? Is he trying to remember how to play Can Do? Easily, the worst Journey song ever recorded.

I could not get over how good-looking he was on the Joy B interview--when he said he was 61 I was flabbergasted, lol. Something in his life is going right that's for sure...

Rick Springfield - Bruce - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW1Frr4OcRc

Doctor, doctor you gotta help me yeah
You gotta make it right for me
It seems this other man's name has been following me around
And it just won't let me be
You see I got this name and he's got this name too
And you know they're kinda close only a blind crazy fool
Would think I was him it's like saying green is blue
But let me tell you brother it started being a bother
When he made the cover of Time magazine

I was at this party in the well-heeled hills
Just the other night
Her name was Shelly I introduced myself
She just smiled and said "all right"
Well we got talkin' and drinkin' wine
And she said she liked my music thought it was fine
She said, "Let's make love, your place or mine,"
And in the middle of the passion I was on the borderline
When she called out a name but it wasn't mine

She called me Bruce, Bruce
I can hear her calling Bruce, Bruce
I can hear her calling Bruce, Bruce
I can hear her
My name is Rick I'm gonna stick it to ya babe

And there's this kid walking carrying a guitar
You know I told him that I played
He asked me my name you know I told him
I said it plain as clear as day
Well he seemed really, clearly, sincerely impressed
And as he pulled a piece of paper for me to sign from his vest
He said, "I thought Born To Run was one of your best."
Awww wait a minute man, who do you think I am?
He answered, "Mr. Springsteen, your a famous man."

He called me Bruce, Bruce
I can hear him calling Bruce, Bruce
He called me Bruce, Bruce
I can hear him
My name is Rich gonna hitch it to your thigh

You know my mama called me long distance yesterday
And as she got off the phone I swear I heard her say

Bye bye Bruce, Bruce
I can hear her calling Bruce, Bruce
She called me Bruce, Bruce
I can hear her
My name is Ricky gonna stick it to you babe
She called me Bruce
I Love Pineapple!!!
