Makes perfect sense to me. Couple that what Herbie said ("He's gone to all of the best vocal coaches in the world, but there's just nothing left.") and his output over the last 15 years says it all. But you can't tell a bunch of wet-in-the-panties women that and expect them to believe it. I'm just hoping that modern surgery might someday be able to reverse all of the years of negligence he inflicted upon himself. Short of that, he just ain't got it anymore.

Really? So no tour or record = self-inflicted negligence? You must have years of daily info on him to make such a ballsy statement like that!

Oh but he does, he has lunch with Perry every Friday.

His past problems with alcohol are pretty well chronicled. ROR, just by appearance and performance (screaming needlessly on stage between songs, singing the older songs at an unbelievable pace to stay in key and cracking at the end of some of the bootlegs I've heard), seemed to indicate a guy going through some pretty terrible times (and I can understand why) and not really taking good care of himself. And then there's the Bill Graham tribute. What a fucking mess.

It's just another example of the guy being a mess. He was in such a state that he needed the words to Faithfully written down. That doesn't exactly paint the picture of a guy that has his shit together and is taking care of himself. Just watch the video. It speaks for itself. The guy's blasted.

May I take a look at those "chronicles" when you upload them from your Hallucinogenic mind... ..

By Jane Scott /Cleveland Coliseum

"Perry may just have the best voice in rock today, a full resounding tenor that can jump from octave to octave (especially notable in "Don't Stop Believin,'" the band's classic song). His voice is effortless, almost seamless. But that doesn't seem to impress him. He did a non-stop show, darting from side to side, remembering to reach out to those behind the stage, sparking up enough energy to light up Summit County for a week."

What a fucking mess.

You just know FOX will give Espee tons of face time from AT&T. They did for the Chisox/Houston Series. I wonder if he will travel to Dallas for the road games? I also wonder if the Giants will "adopt" him like the Palehose did.

Sure. Just youtube any interview from the ROR days, look at him stomping around the Bill Graham memorial show like he's the lead singer of Anthrax (talk about being so out of it that you forget the event's context ...and the words to Faithfully!) or just use a little common sense.

There were still a lot of good, quality ROR shows, but there were also a lot of stinkers. :isten to some of the pre-ROR material and it's barely listenable.

Man, I'd lay down some $$$ to see him front Journey again. 1000 times better than what they've become! :?

So tell us, Simon Cowell...how somber and in context were the rest of the performances at this show? I bet the Robin Williams stand-up set must have been a real nice and appropriate few moments.

Can't have your cake and eat it, too. It's long been contended that they played a full step down to reflect the nature of the event (not because his voice was toast). Then why not perform the songs in their original key and show up in a state of mind in which you can remember the words??? You wanna act like it's a regular show, then sing the songs the right way and remember the fucking lyrics. Because the song's key and his stage antics completely contradicted each other.

Then you obviously don't know a damn thing about gospel/r&b music. Not faulting you for that, but if that's your argument it's not valid. There's countless recordings by r&b and gospel singers that'll prove you wrong. (By stage antics, I'm assuming you mean the stomping around like he's in Anthrax, while somber music is playing).
