Complete incompetence by the J-Boyz legal team it looks like), I don't see where Perry has done anything detrimental to the band over the last ten years. I'm sure some of that has to with his ability to continuously collect a paycheck but really, since he has left Journey what has Nostrildamus done to the band that would affect them adversely?
If anything, it's Perry's fans who have got a reason to bitch about his actions (or rather, inaction) over the last ten years more than anyone else.
All good points. I think the "horrible contract" they signed was probably because they were just so tired of the inactivity in Journey that they agreed to far more than what they should have, but it's somewhat understandable. In total, the guy took over a decade away from them in terms of touring and relevance. I can see the impatient desire to just be able to get back out there and be able to play again.
As for the last decade, Perry has been great about keeping the old songs in the public's eye. While I certainly question his motives (I think he does it to remind people that the "original" singer isn't there anymore, but wouldn't be doing it if the band was dormant.), you
can't question the results. They've been phenomenal.
