Incredible vocal performance.

Postby Rick » Tue Nov 02, 2010 10:53 am

Every now and then someone will sing a song, and it's like they were the perfect fit for it, because they just knock it out of the park. Whitney Houston's performance of the Star Spangled Banner at Superbowl 25, for me, is one of those.

Someone on Facebook posted this performance a few days ago, and it's been stuck in my head ever since.

Very Pretty, Rick!!
But after hearing The King on this one ...noone else is quite powerful enough, for me!!
That man could/can bring me to my knees w/his gospel sangin'!!

I'd really like to hear Bobby do this one ...

I think this was originally posted on the Steve Balsamo thread a few months ago, but when I think awe inspiring performances, this one immediately comes to my mind.

She did a good job on that. I always liked that song by Skid Row. And I've always liked How Great Thou Art. We used to sing it when I was a kid in church.

PLEASE do not combine the name Whitney Houston with words like incredible or perfect ever again. Great way to get banned. :D

It's incredible...Perry's vocal performance was perfect on that song that night and not over the top like the urban yodeler-style divas. I almost get goosebumps every time I hear it.

I love it...Can't take ownership of it, though, as I stole it from talk show host Neal Boortz.

I agree MG. Elvis sang this song better than anyone who has ever attempted. He was the only man, EVER who could actually make gospel music listenable!

There are lesser known artists who are quite good. Gospel music isn't my cup of tea but there are a lot out there who can do it and do it well.
