You mean like people that criss-cross the country, drink with the guy, exchange phone numbers and accept stacks of backstage passes from the band he founded?

And this makes sense how? That was then, this is now. I found out a whole bunch about the guy and trust me, it ain't all good like you believe it is.

Here's the part you continue to fail to comprehend ... I don't care!!! I'm a fan of the music and the music only. When situations like TBF and someone bailing on the fans, or Tapegate and the band cheating fans arises, I pulverize them! Aside from that, I don't care what the guy's finances are, if he or anyone else has sex with dead zebras or if he has more alimony payments than Elizabeth Taylor. The fact that you ingratiated yourself almost into the band and had a desire to hang out, meet up with and accrue stories and information, tells me that you were more than a fan. And that's something I have no interest in.

Wow dude, you just can't let an opportunity go by can you? Did Neal like have his way with one of your family members and then dump them cold or something?

I would say for a high school drop out Neal has done extremely well for himself. I appears Neal does pretty well as far as knowledge of new technology goes, at least as it applies to music.

But hey, keep having your fun. The inmates are running the ward around here these days anyway.

Huh? The shit I say is nothing compared to what has been uttered on this board over the years. Why are you acting surprised all of a sudden?
It's not an offical bandsite. Anywway, where are you around here when Perry is the one in the line of fire?
Some people make it their mission to burn SP on the cross around here, I'm just balancing things out.

I notice, you're still reading what is being written here. As long as it's not your guy getting hosed, you probably enjoy it too.

Don, I have been around this site for a long, long time. The thing is there used to be a bit of a balance on both sides to the "arguments" around here. It has become decidedly one sided for a quite a while now.

And I apologize for singling you out. Not the way I should have gone about that.

When the tour starts, it will swing the other way, it always does. You don't have to apologize, Everyone I have met from this board in real life I have found to be great people, whether they have been pro or anti Journey in their opinions. I don't take any of it seriously.

I watched the interview. It was nice to see some other well known and accomplished artist talking so respectfully of the song and classic Journey itself. :)

Such a waste...

Computers, Itunes, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, YOUTUBE. (come on, this one should be obvious)...fuck radio.

Interesting that Journey has 2 songs in Rock Band - DSB and AWYWI. But with each release of Rock Band, they seem to drop a few songs that you can't export into the newest version due to 'licensing' issues with the artist. In Rock Band 3, one of those songs is AWYWI :x - not sure what the 'licensing' issue is and if that means no future Journey songs in RB. If so, too bad - RB is releasing a lot of DLC from classic rock bands these days and exposing the youngsters  to some great music. With the addition of the keyboard in RB3, I think something like Separate Ways would be a fun song to play with your 'band'.

I chuckled about Marty having to leave to catch a train--so sensible!! That is a great pic of Neal; he looks genuinely happy there. It was awesome how so many of the other musicians had such well-deserved respect for him. Thanks so much for sharing, Marty... (I would love to know what Neal said--it must have been pretty funny.)

Funny to read SF-D lamenting on the current state of affairs here in Journeyland :D .
Like him, I have been here a long time...but I never made 1 post until well after Tapegate came and gone ...just too rough a place for me. For years, this board was anti-SP, pro-SA & Journey. Led by RnD, TNC, a few others...whenever the few perryloon brave souls here would post anything positive about SP, they were chewed up, spat at, and told to stay at Perry fansites.
Indeed, things have changed...and it was Tapegate that caused the swing of the pendulum.

It was the Loons not wanting anyone else to be in Journey that made it pro SA. For the most part you were in one of the camps. I supported the SA line up, still do, but I like Perry too, after all he is the voice of rock. But face it, he is not coming back to journey or music. And the loons couldn't see that, couldn't support anyone else singing the songs. I could and so could others. We wanted new music from Jon and Neal and the Journey name. SA keep the music alive, you could actually go see these songs played!!! Could you do that with Perry??? Going to a ball game and act like he is singing may make some happy, but not me.
I do not think any Pro SA fan was a Perry hater. But I think the loons thought that for the most part.
Tapegate was sad for the most part, sad for the fans, and the band members (all of them). They should have taken time off, but they did otherwise and made a bigger mess of things with Soto.
I do not like the current line up. AP is a great singer, but to me he is carbon copy (something Augeri was not). His stage presence leaves a lot to be desired. But I will buy there music, I am a Journey fan. I am just not as big of a fan as before. If they come close I will see them in concert, and cheer for the songs, but wish for the days of Perry or Augeri, unless something happens on the next CD to make things look brighter.
But Tapegate did cause things to swing back toward Perry, but I think for for the loons than true Journey fans.
