Journey
Former Journey frontman Steve Perry has stunned his former bandmates by asking to rejoin the group in the wake of the rockers' recent chart revival.

Perry left the band for good in 1998 to embark on a solo career and Filipino singer Arnel Pineda took over vocal duties in 2007.

They have since enjoyed renewed success after their power ballad Don't Stop Believin' was covered by the cast of hit TV musical Glee.

And now former frontman Perry allegedly wants to rejoin the band, according to founding member Neal Schon.

The guitarist tells Britain's Daily Star, "He seems to be enjoying the spotlight a little too much. The fact is he's no longer the lead singer. He walked out."

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see him up on stage or in the studio with them.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

When I first saw this on a friend's news feed on facebook. I posted something like this.

That the only way I'll believe it is when I see that Steve has posted something on FA that sayes he is rejoining Journey. Until then, I sorry, I'm not believing this one either. I don't care how many articles are out there.

The comments under that post stated the same thing.

Does anyone actually think Perry would have the balls to make that kind of request after all these years?

I doubt it. :D

I checked it out, after I found it, and like the others, it said the same thing. But, I don't think Neil will let Steve back in. I'm just going by how Neil was quoted. He didn't sound like Neil would let Steve return at all.

Like I mentioned before. Unless, Steve posts it on FA, personally & there's something in the press at the same time. Plus, a current picture. I'm not going to believe it. Not getting my hopes up at all.

the story has spread all over, many sites. Trying to trace it back to an actual published interview in the British paper identified brings nothing. I don't doubt MR Schon said those words but they were taken out of context it appears and entertainment news has a ball with it!

What you say is very true perryfaithful and we've seen other stories taken out of context too. Which is why if I'm waiting for official word from Steve about it. Personally, I don't think Steve would rejoin Journey. He's having way to much fun now.

My bet is that Steve doesn't say shit. Since he likes to keep us all guessing about what he's gonna do, I say he will neither confirm nor deny any of this.

This quote by Neal - I see no other quotes within this story, nor do I see how Neal's obnoxious quote constitutes Steve Perry asking back in! Who made this crap up?

Sometimes, that's the best way to deal with it. Not say anything at all. I've gotten to the point that unless it's posted on FA or I hear Steve say something on an interview. I glance over it.

The HEADLINE about Perry supposedly asking to come back to the band never happened, BUT what about the rest of it?

" the guitarist tells Britain's Daily Star, "He seems to be enjoying the spotlight a little too much. The fact is he's no longer the lead singer. He walked out."

Made up? Where does this come from?

"In Journey, all the hit songs we had were based around Steve Perry's vocals."

Journey Shut Down Rumors Of Reunion With Steve Perry
11/15/2010 10:21 AM ET

TOP STORY

(RTTNews) - Journey have returned to the spotlight in recent years and it seems former frontman Steve Perry wants to get in on the action. Perry left the group in the 1990s to pursue a solo career and it seems his former bandmembers have no plans to welcome him back.

Journey founder Neal Schon recently shot down any rumors that Perry may rejoin the band, reminding fans that it was Perry's idea to quit.

"[Steve] seems to be enjoying the spotlight a little too much. The fact is he's no longer the lead singer. He walked out," Schon tells Britian's Daily Star.

Journey's current resurgence has been fueled by the continued success of their iconic anthem "Don't Stop Believin'." The song has been featured in current television shows ranging from the Sopranos to Glee.

A cover of the track also served as the theme song for a viral web video supporting World Series Champions the San Francisco Giants.

This continues to state "Steve Perry wants to get in on the action" implying he wants to be lead singer again. THAT is what the Journey "spokesperson" needs to come out and say is false. HEY and Steve Perry should be "enjoying the spotlight" with a song he is very much a part of and is identified with! Why not Neal?
