I am a fine artist. This is just one example of my work, as I do various styles...realism and impressionist mainly but have done some surrealism and abstract but for the most part I have a unique style which is undefined. I'm also a fine art photographer and have prints of my photographs available as well as prints of my paintings and drawings, along with the originals.
I do commissioned work as well..landscapes, people and pet portraits,...just about any subject matter. If anyone is interested in original artwork or prints contact me via my website to follow. Thanks for viewing.

Very nice work Phyllis. I've wished I could paint landscapes since watching Bob Ross on PBS when I was a kid.

Thank you! I've been doing artwork since I was a kid. I did a drawing and coloration of a Cardinal bird when I was 4 years old that was submitted to and published in the local paper. Through the years I did things here and there.... for instance, I received accolades, and awards from the school system and Governor of the state and a full page spread in the paper when my sons were in elementary school for the work I did there which included painting large murals of storybook characters on the schools library walls. But I didn't start to pursue doing artwork professionally, though, until my sons were grown. ...now its a fulltime passion and commitment. :)
Bob Ross was great, wasn't he. I loved watching him on PBS too.

Edit*

Oh, I should mention that I had a couple of my paintings taken and reprinted without my permission on a website and blog and had to track them down, so I'm looking into how to put a more secure watermark on my paintings, drawings and photography....thats why I hesitated in providing a link above but I did start a public business page ( or what FB calls a "fanpage" ) on Facebook where my artwork can be viewed as I post it onto and through Fine Art America with watermarks. For those that would like to keep updated on my artwork just look up Phyllis Wolf Fine Art on Facebook....you are welcome to join. :)

I will, thanks! 8) As I mentioned above, I do various styles and use various media and have done and do various subject matter and when its a commission I do what is requested by the patron ( within reason to content, if I can ) if they want something specific....but I have to say my favorite thing to paint is impressionist landscapes and I dislike doing really dark and unattractive subject matter..I especially don't wish to do any depressive looking "emo" stuff....thats just not in me to do. So, like Bob Ross, I love to do happy trees and clouds..paint a happy little world and get all cool and mellow while I paint with a big grin on my face like he had ....but I have also been known to whistle , sing and dance whilst I paint sometimes, too.

 Thats funny because at first I titled it "I invite you to the garden" and changed that
because I thought it might be taken as an invitation to Madison Square.

Lovely! I truly admire artistic people. I can't draw, paint, act, play an instrument or sing worth a damn, so I really appreciate the efforts of those who can. To create something beautiful from nothing is a wonderful gift. Keep up the great work.

I'm sure you have your own unique set of abilities only in other ways.... as seen here, you certainly have a talent with words and you have a great ear for music, just to name two that I've noticed! Thank you so much..your comment means a lot to me. Knowing that others enjoy viewing my artwork inspires me to continue to create more. :D

Something else that inspires me is my family and it continues to grow. One of my twin sons and his wife are expecting a baby in December. Yesterday I heard the news that their baby is a boy! Woohoo! I've been blessed with a girl grandbaby who is two and now a boy grandchild is on his way! :D <3

( I know this is a sidenote of personal info but my art is personal to me, anyway, and I'm busting with joy so I couldn't resist sharing. lol )

Now I'm off to go do some more painting. Have a good one, y'all! :)

Those are beautiful colors in your painting Phyllis. Great detail also, especially in the grass in the foreground, just beautiful.
Congrats on your upcoming grandbaby! On a side note, did y'all really get snow up there? I am envious if you did.

Thanks, for both the nice comments on my painting and the congrats! :D
No, no snow here...it did get a bit chillier then its been for a couple days...around 60 degrees daytime high, but no snow at all.
Right now I'm just finishing up a painting of the local shrubbery... ...the prickly pear cactus. I put a pic of it to show a WIP ( work in progress ) on FAA and my Facebook page ..if any of y'all would like to check out some more. Tomorrow, if the light is good I'll try to get a pic of it completed....if I can get it in a shot as its a fairly large canvas, 36 x 49...and get it posted. My next painting I'll be starting this week will be a snow scene. I'll just have to paint from memory of snow though, as I haven't seen any yet this year.

The last snow I saw was in Palo Duro Canyon. That would be a good inspiration for one of your paintings. Layers of color in the canyon walls. :)
I hiked in Lost Maples State Park last week. It's the place to go to see fall colors in my area. I took this pic with my phone, I need to get a good camera...

You must be psychic! I'm planning a camping trip to Palo Duro Canyon before the months out to do some hiking and photography...as well as an en plein air painting or two if I find a scenic spot that inspires me. Your phone takes a good picture! Nice capture of fall color. I have used a Sony point and shoot for a long time but since I've gotten into photography more I purchased a Canon SLR and am really having a lot of fun with it....but there are some very good point and shoots on the market now at not too bad a price when you go to get one. If you want your photos to print at a higher picture quality get one thats shoots at least 10 mega pixels or better. Can I ask, what area are you in? If you don't want to say specifically on here I understand...but are you East, Southeast, Northeast? I'm assuming its East of where I am due to the fall tree shot? I'll have to look up where Lost Maples is...haven't been there yet.

I'm west of San Antonio in the Hill Country. It's all cactus, cedars and live oaks here. Lost Maples is an anomaly for this area, thus the big influx of visitors in the falltime. An image search of the park is pretty colorful...

It takes us about 8 hrs to get to Palo Duro, but it's well worth the drive.

One of my sons was in San Antonio for his military AIT training and I was planning to go to his graduation there but then he took a job that required higher security clearance so he went to another base for the remainder of his training. ...so I haven't been that far south yet. Thanks for the link! Lost Maples Park looks gorgeous! I'll definately add it to places I want to visit....looks like a good place for plein air painting. After Palo Duro, my next camping trip will be Big Bend...I'm really looking forward to going there. Next spring I plan to go to some parks around the Austin area. I'll try to include Lost Maples somewhere in the plans now for sure! Thanks again! :)

If you're near Austin you should see Natural Bridge Caverns. Just as pretty as Carlsbad, not quite as big but all the same type formations. Pedernales Falls and Colorado Bend State Park have pretty waterfalls. Both near Austin. Aquarena Springs in San Marcos (about 20 minutes south of Austin) has glass bottom boats that you can see the river coming up from the faultline. Pretty amazing sight. Too many things to see...

I know, right? I may need another lifetime as big as Texas is! I have Pedernales Falls, Colorado Bend and Natural Bridge Caverns on the list as it is going to be an extended trip to several places instead of one place at a time going back and forth. I didn't know about Aquarena Springs.....sounds cool, I'll have to check that out too! I also need to get down to the coast as well...probably this winter sometime after the Big Bend trip and Christmas trip back East to see family.

You know, it's never too late to start! My mom used to watch Bob Ross on PBS and he would say that anyone could learn - so finally my mom bought some basic art supplies and got started by watching his videos and getting instructional books. Her first efforts were pretty discouraging, but she kept at it and now sells her oil paintings in galleries. Why not give it a try?

Whew! The links finally work! lol I kept editing when I started this thread because the link wasn't working everytime I tried it in the post. I'll add them to the first post now.

Oh, bit of info for those that may not know.....

Artists and business "fanpages" on Facebook don't get a news feed so when you "like" an artists page...say your favorite musician, for example....they can't see and don't have access to your FB page if you have it set on private settings. In other words, when "liking" an artist page you don't become "friends" where they can interact with your profile page.......you can comment on the artists page if they have it set to allow....but the artist cant post on or even see your profile page.
Just some FYI.

Take notice that my previous message on the proceeding page pertains to you as well. By the way, use and reissue of someone elses photographs without their expressed permission is copyright infringement. Copyright from someones creation does not have to be registered, either, as it is implicit. If it came from their camera it is implicit that the photo is their property and unless they have stated the allowance of its use and reissue to you personally or as a public statement that anyone is free to use it, it is infringement to copy and reprint. Just because many people do copy and reuse anything they find on the net doesn't mean they have the legal right to do so. For instance, if someone copy's and reuses any of my images, either artwork or photos of my artwork or any other photos I take which are my creations without my implicit consent they have violated copyright laws and legal action can be brought against the perpetrator. Which includes, I might add, someones portrait photo and in taking it without implicit permission and reusing it in any form, even if just a partial part of the photograph, if it can be identified as the photographers property. For example taking someones photo without permission and photoshopping a part of it onto another image....without implicit consent to do so is a violation of copyright law.

I attended Painting With A Twist last night ...ever heard of it?!? http://www.paintingwithatwist.com/shreveport/
It's a franchise and they're all over LA, Fl, TX ...in MI, TN and other parts of the country.
You can either attend a class, open to the public, or have a private party. One design is
selected by the person hosting the party (if it's a private party) and the teacher guides you, step by step,
to completion. I'm not sure, but I think the twist is the wine/alcohol you drink
while trying to produce your masterpiece.

Long story short, I had the best time, laughed a LOT and I left there thinking I had a hidden talent ...course
things are much clearer today and unfortunately I am not the arteest I drank myself
into believing ...but huge, huge fun!!! Much respect to all you artists ...
