Kiss Crazy Nights...

Postby G.I.Jim » Sun Nov 28, 2010 1:52 pm

Just hanging out with the fam tonight, and my niece who's 5 and LOVES Kiss. She always makes me pull up Youtube videos every time they come over, and tonight I busted out "Crazy Nights". She loved it, and I forgot just how much I loved the 80's incarnation of Kiss! Bruce was the best guitarist that band ever had, and their videos just remind me of how awesome the late 80's were. Paul's voice peaked then too. DAMN I wish I had a hot tub time machine! The 80's KICKED ASS!!! :D

There are some good songs on "Crazy Nights," but there are a few low points as well ("Bang Bang You" and "My Way"). Not my favorite KISS album, but Bruce definitely plays some great guitar throughout. His solo on "Reason To Live" is fantastic. As far as the '80s, I prefer the Simmons/Stanley/Carr/Vincent lineup.

nowhere to run,my favorite kiss tune of all time.imagine if that one would've actually made it on to the already great creatures of the night album.

One of my favorite forgotten Gene songs from the '80s era:

"Not For The Innocent"

Co-written by Vinnie Vincent -- they made a great songwriting team...

vinnie vincent always managed to bring out the very best in gene and paul from creatures, lick it up and again with the material on revenge.too bad things didn't work out between those guys because they had a load of chemistry.

Agreed 100%. If Vinnie and P/G were somehow able to stay together I really think that lineup could have done some serious damage.

I agree about "Bang Bang You," which barely passes as filler, but love "My Way."

Nowhere to Run is the best of those four songs. Nice guitar solo from Bob Kulick filling in for Ace. Can't believe that it wasn't on a proper studio release in the United States.
