Steve Perry has 50 New Songs to Choose from

Postby Hollywood » Wed Dec 01, 2010 10:46 am

Here is an interesting news item.

http://www.melodic.net/newsOne.asp?newsId=17197

In a recent interview with Classic Rock Magazine, former Journey singer Steve Perry said he has written 50 new songs, some with a familiar sound, others more contemporary and some that he can´t put a label on. Perry also told CRM that he has started recording his new solo album but don´t know when it will be released.

Not anything ground breaking here and I truly wish he would stop mentioning stuff like this if he really has no intentions of actually releasing anything, which is what his past behavior indicates.

M~M~M ...expect the best, prepare for the worst! I hope it's true, but if it's not, the world will
not come to an end!! Now, in 2012 we can safely say ..."if Steve Perry doesn't release something soon, the world is going to come to an end."

Perry just did a huge interview in the new Classic Rock AOR Magazine (the one supporting Journey's UK tour). Google that interview and you'll get the rest of what he talked about.

In the past, in any interview I either read or heard, I have never heard him actually say the words solo album. Most times he would say he was writing again or in the studio. So as far as I am concerned this is the first he has mentioned an actual album. In that light...I have hope :)

Dan is the biggest closet Perry fan that exists. Trust me! :D He posts all of his crap about Perry, because it really bothers him that he can't hear anything new from him. It drives him INSANE! That, and he's gay. :P

I don't think they have made it available on line. We've been looking for the physical magazine here since the release date, but no luck. Cyndy & I did read the raw article a few weeks back - they hadn't proofed it yet, but it was good. They combined an interview with Steve and Jonathan together for a look at the Escape album. Interesting read for sure.

Someone on this board gave me a copy of Street Talk in 2008 (thank you, R) and I listened to it from beginning to end probably 3 times. I only like Captured By The Moment and Strung Out. The rest pretty much sucks, with Oh Sherrie being somewhere between mediocre and good.

And Jonathan Cain has 200 New songs on his computer hard drive. Means absolutely nothing.

No. He said something last year, I think, that there was definitely going to be an album or music or something. Then nada.
