Ouch! That was bad.

Got to give them credit for having balls cause pissing off a bunch of GNR fans by lipping would scare the shit out of me.

Funny there wasn't a riot. Probably should have been. Don't think riots were a concern in the Journey camp. :) :D

They at least started on time...Seriously, so strange with Axl - like why even bother? Guy is living in a strange world...and suing Slash over Guitar Hero

This is a perfect case of being noteworthy and not being.

When Journey mimed their way through an entire tour, NO ONE knew or cared. A much more popular band does it and boom! -It's news.

Lucky for Journey, they didn't take tape gate to OZ, The Aussies ripped Britney and Whitney also for subpar performances/ lipping.

Jealous you didn't get the scoop on this one? ;) Lipsynching made you what you are dude, EVERYONE knows you because of it happening. Quit with the sour grapes and not being able to out all the lip synchers! ;)

Seriously though, I don't think GNR was more popular than Journey was, even in their heyday and when compared to Journey in theirs.

Two hours late to stage (Axhole's standard treatment for GnR fans), followed by a lipped performance. Maybe it's payback for the disappointing sales of Chinese Democracy, which was pretty much sustained by fan loyalty since Axl refused to make appearances to help promote it. I'm sure to Axhole, they just didn't love him enough.

I'm sure a huge percentage of performers are indebted to Journey for denying it rather than admittiing the practice is rampant.

Lipping's bad enough, but THAT would really piss me off! And you're right it's nothing new, from reading an unauthorized biography of GNR, it sounds like it was a regular occurance near the end before they split.

I really don't understand the hubbub about G 'n' R anyway. To me, they have always sucked. Van Halen lite with half the talent and no catchy songs. November Rain is their only decent song. The rest of their songs are overplayed cock rock junk.

I love VH and Tesla. Notice, I qualified "cock rock" with "JUNK."

Based on how Axl sounded some years back at the MTV Music Awards when he came out of his cave, I'd be doing the same thing. He sucked!

G&R are like Boston, one huge debut that could never be duplicated. For both of those bands, if you own their first album, that's all you really need.

I don't like GnR, and I don't own anything by them. I don't think I ever could own anything in the future either, just out of principle.

Trashy ass band. Axl should be skinned and burned alive.

They blew their load with the first album. I know a lot of people dig Use Your Illusion but for me, Everything post Appetitie For Destruction was too watered down compared to their freshman effort.

I never really liked them - but dug a couple of their classics for what they were (welcome to the jungle being the stand out)...The saga with Axl Rose is a strange one tho, unless the guy is financially bankrupt, there's no need to go out and delay every show he plays by 2+hours, then lip sync. No reason at all, unless you're a world-class douche bag who likes to fuck with people.

That's nothing - try being a crowd of fans and waiting several hours for GnR to hit the stage only to find out the show is canceled because Axhole decided to stay in New York and skip out. Happened during an earlier short Chinese D. tour, and I think it killed the rest of the dates.
