Have to say I don't remember DC saying anything bad about SA, but I was away from the board for a long time.

Dude, when Deen saw me for the very first time, he sprinted over to me and jumped up and hugged me, thanking me profusely for Tapegate. yes, that's 100% true. Again, what you people don't know is blinding you.

So what's wrong with that? He was nice to you.

You don't get it. He was super nice to me for getting rid of Augeri. Once I was gone soon after JSS was, Deen talked shit about me too, along with that scumbag Valory who told the British press I was a disturbed drug addict and an alcoholic. As soon as Jeff was let go, Deen shit all over him too, making a reference in which I am not allowed to mention here. I can tell you tons of stuff about how Neal wanted Ross gone, and he wanted rolie back in...yes, he said those things. They were all nice to me....at first, because they were all truly happy with JSS, because they were kicking Lippards ass nightly and getting good reviews. As soon as they did Jeff the way they did, that was it for me. If you only knew what they said and did, you wouldn't admire them anymore. But I can't make you sheep believe any of it.

Ahh, no, Dan and RobbieG aren't buddies at all  You just so happened to be logging in and reading while Dan and I were going at it.....you're both a couple of liars....

Robbie, you have NO idea what happened when I was with them, try as you might. Even if you do have a roadie pal in the band, they weren't with us. I was with the band, not the road crew, so choose your battle and lies well here. You have absolutely NO idea, nor does Dan, about what transpired. You can't, because nieither one of you were present and neither were one of your "sources."

All you guys can do is speculate and assume. That won't get it done.

Who here admires them for anything outside of musicianship?!?! We may form opinions about what we see at face value, but I don't think anyone gives a fuck if they call each other names!

You were the god Damned shepherd!!! You were hopping Stallone's fence to drop off one of the worst pieces of music in recorded history (Generations), then you were the anti-Christ to them and wanted them all dead after Tapegate, then you were criss-crossing the country and partying with them, and now you hate them again! But you call us sheep because we like the music and put it above "getting close?!?!" :? We have kept the people separate from the music ... you didn't. And that's not our fault.

True. I have certain bands I love my music and they give it their all on stage. I state again, all band members probably say something about each other at different stages. They're living in close quarters for months on end which creates friction and dysfunctionality at times. I just go to a few concerts a year for a band I love their music. I have no desire to meet them, personally, and get to know them. The same goes for Bono. The same goes for Roland Orzabal. And the same goes for bitchy Madonna, who might be a nightmare, but she goes out on stage and has given some absolutely amazing concerts and gives her all. That's all I ask of my favorites. But I have no desire to meet them.

Elton John seems like a first-class pr.....k at times, but I saw him a few weeks ago and he blew me away. At his age, he still has it. Amazing concert with Leon Russell.

What just happened in this exchange has made me sick to my stomach. Things are very different for me now with regards to some here. I don't want to comment any more about this crap, but I feel I have to answer this particular post in a timely fashion.

I WAS a huge fan. I saw that one of my favourite bands had gone awry, and was cheapening themselves as well as spitting in the face of rock music. I thought "fixing" the band was the right thing to do. What the band did was that fucking bad. Despite what all you spineless fans think, lipping is NOT ok. Just because other bands like Lippard and some others do it, does not make it right.

We got the band fixed. We got them to sing live during a concert again(what a novel idea!). Neal looked at me in a positive light. I forgave the band for it's mistake and all was well. At least for a half of tour. Then they pollute the air again with their horrible people skills. They fire a guy who did nothing but save a tour, make them millions and save their faces and careers. They fire him for reasons you have NO idea about. I suggest if you think they fired Soto because of his association with me, or his closeness with fans on the internet, you call him and ask him these questions before you erroneously blab them aloud on the web. What you have said about Soto's firing is all untrue. You know he is unable to come in here and speak his side or tell the truth, because he is under gag order, so you two make up theory- you make up stuff, and it sounds good, and all the Journey hero worshippers follow you. It's sad really.

Oh and as far as keeping the music and the people separate, please stop, I am laughing too hard. Yes, you keep the music and people separate. How about the daily Perry bashing, calling him wasted on coke, lazy, a backstabber, and a bad bandmate. Doesn't sound like you kept that too separate. How about the lame defense you guys roll out- "They're good people?" remember that shit? What's funny is you have never gotten to know these guys. You simply take sides because of your love for all things Journey, and in this case, Schon and Cain are your heros. Yet you guys chastise me for defending Perry, who is tada...scandal free. The last point I am going to make and this is important. You can choose to believe me or you can go on blindly defending your heroes, but one thing is certain. I ahve seen these guys at work, and you haven't. I have already spoken to you as to why everyone on this board has met them and none of us like any of them...that speaks volumes. But go on and listen to RobbieG and others who just adore Schon and Cain...it's ok if you think I am full of shit. Remember, people thought Jose Canseco was full of shit too.

I don't condone the lipping. I have just moved past it, like you did with JSS on board. If JSS was still here, you would have still been past the lipping and happy as a camper. But, yet, you shove it down our throats now all the time because we have moved past it.

They're not my heroes. I tease about Neal on here because it's my shtick and there were too many haters on here for Neal and I'm glad he kept the band alive and I love his playing and passion. Steve P was an asshole in many respects at different times in the band that was detrimental to the band. Neal has major issues and has made poor judgment calls and has his own set of demons. Jon I'm sure can be cold as ice. And all three of them also have great sides. But the best of it all is they're all great musicians. The music sounds good to me live, still. Amazing musicians. Debating on here about these guys is what MR is, let's face it. Just another day. Steve P, Neal, and Jon are tainted in that they all caused issues in this band. I jumped in because I think Deen is truly a nice guy and brings a lot of positivity to the band and seems to really love his fans and is an amazing singer and drummer. I love his energy. I think he, out of all of them, would be a blast to meet.

Well, it went from "outing" to "fixing" awfully fast. Please excuse the folks that think your allegiance was "bought" with some access and tickets, but that's sure what it looks like.

Rockindeano wrote:They fire a guy who did nothing but save a tour, make them millions and save their faces and careers. They fire him for reasons you have NO idea about.

Nor do I care! That's their right. You simply move on with them or you don't. Hey, now he knows how Ross and Smitty felt.

Rockindeano wrote: I suggest if you think they fired Soto because of his association with me, or his closeness with fans on the internet, you call him

I doubt it helped!

Rockindeano wrote:What you have said about Soto's firing is all untrue.

That possibility very well exists. I have only maintained that you and a few others and the access he gave fans may not have helped.

Rockindeano wrote: You know he is unable to come in here and speak

This would have been a novel concept before he got fired.

Rockindeano wrote: How about the daily Perry bashing, calling him wasted on coke

Um, that was Herbie.

Rockindeano wrote: lazy, a backstabber, and a bad bandmate.

1987 to 1998 certainly point to a great argument to support that notion.

Rockindeano wrote: You simply take sides because of your love for all things Journey, and in this case, Schon and Cain are your heros.

This is rich ... the guy that jumped Stallone's fence for people he didn't even know, has held 4 vastly differing opinions of the band (pro, con, pro, con) in 5 years and accepted plane tickets and backstage passes from the band is preaching about "love for all things Journey!!!" :?

Perhaps there's more to JSS's firing, whether just or unjust...however, two things were obvious: Cain was never sold on JSS, and the Walmart deal would never have happened without a Perry-ish voice.

Selectively pick apart a quote....too much

You make yourself look more clueless and ridiculous each and every post. Like I said, you can't possibly argue me here, because you were not there. It is impossible for you to speak factually on any of this.

I am done debating you. You have NO clue what you are talking about.

Not true at all.

They were in talks while Jeff was in the band. And by the way, I have a copy of GH Live with Soto's voice on it. He sounds just fine, thank you.

And by the comments made by Kevin Shirley recently it sounds like there is still an issue there. JSS was too much testosterone for Cain  .....and it sounds like Schon & Cain are still butting heads, with Schon STILL wanting to rock more. If JSS was fronting Journey they WOULD be rockin' more. I don't think Schon will ever truly be totally happy with the brand that's called Journey.

There's a lot of truth in that, though. Jeff brought a new dynamic to the band that really amped up the rock side of it. Just as each other frontman has brought his own signature to the shows.

Creative differences while making an album usually make for the best. They all got along really great making Trial By Fire, and look what they got, a nice album, not a great album.

I remember Cain telling Jeff in Orlando, "now Jeff, in Journey, we don't do dick songs." That was the night at Universal City when Lynn actually didn't tell anyone to go fuck themselves. She was quite kind actually.

Melissa, remember, I plugged up the toilet at the ESPN zone, and there was shit water running out the bathroom? I was so embarrassed I just ran out of there.

Every member of this band (except Smitty, IMO) is/was a tremendous asshole*, yes, even in the "Classic" days, but we still enjoy the music. Or, in my case, used to.

*Doesn't include JSS, Augeri or Pineda.
